no effects with PV and wondering about yopo

i jsut smoked a few bowls of dried psychotria leaf. nothing happened really. got dizzy (head rush) when i go toff the couch to go empty the ashes off the deck. that was abotu 5 mins ago so im guessing if anything would have happened it would have by now. it was 3 dried leaves (dried in teh dark) smokes ina tree resin pipe with a normal ol bic lighter.

now about yopo. im preping some for tonight. this is the plan thus far. im going to use 3 seeds. do teh crush/water/paste/dry method described by shultz in teh golden guide. has this method worked well for others here? i cant seem to find much at all regarding these 2 specifics on erowid, it jsut seems to be generall dmt info.

anyway any help would be supoib.

You are supposed to use a maoi with pv leaves, same as with mhrb. It's rare to get effect smoking leaves but I've heard some people can feel it.

no maoi when smoking but you're not going to feel anything from smoking psychotria leaf, shit the first d extraction i did i fucked up and got an impure oil (still many many times more concentrated than leaves) and had a helluva time getting off on that, can't imagine trying to get off w/ leaf ...

well sheet. some how i got it in my head that it was a common practice to smoke leaf. oh well.

any pointers on the yopo? or shoudl that work fine?

i tried looking and you knwo i dotn know where i got that from...i never gave it any thought it was in my head that it was jsut one of the ways to do it...im a retard, thank god it wasnt dangerous.

ya i got my yopo drying now and i read a few posts here in teh garden. pretty nervous but pretty excited.

Yopo is very effective smoked, 1 or 2 nice hits and you will feel it. I grind my yopo and mix it half and half with mint leaves to help it burn. You will definitely feel a tryptamine rush. It's nothing at all like smoking pure DMT but it is okay. It feels to me like mostly bufotenine and maybe some 5-meo-DMT, with little to no DMT.

oh shit ive never heard of smoking yopo seeds. got any links or more info on that? sounds a lot nicer than a burning nose!

so how many seeds? i can hit big and i can hit small, hard to knwo what everyones deff of big hits are. how long it last usually? comparable to snuff?

I've heard great things about smoking yopo. I think it's short lasting, never tried smoking it myself, but i've heard it's less intense than the snuff. You should try to take some moster rips. Keep us posted :smile:

yea 4 5 seeds. crack them in half let them dry on a vent for awhile witha little heat. then peel off the outter brown shell. grind up the whitish inerds. place in a pipe that you use for smoking other things. take a few big hits or whatever your comfortable with. expereince a rush and leg sensations.

also a gravity bong or bucket hooter can be used.

The first time I smoked yopo, I wasn't expecting much, and boy was I surprised. I ground my seeds, mixed it with a little kanna, and packed a nice bowl. Applied flame, took a big hit that was hard to hold(the smoke was kinda harsh), and exhaled not expecting anything, especially from 1 hit. Almost instantly I felt that familiar tryptamine feel, and quite intensely I might add. I was very familiar with DMT and 5-meo-DMT so I recognized it immediately. Try it, you'll probably like it if you like smoked tryptamines. The effect is gentler than pure compounds, but lasts longer also. You take 5-6 big hits and you might puke, cuz there's a chance it might overwhelm you. Maybe that's just me. DMT and especially 5-meo-DMT always make my stomach feel funny at first, but the pure bliss that follows is well worth it IMO. There are a couple of reports on Erowid about smoking yopo, and I've since turned many friends onto it. Good legal high.

Learn A/B extraction. It's easier than growing shrooms IMO.
If you're really worried about getting it wrong then do a practice run with instant coffee,you'll end up with nearly pure caffiene(which you can toss in the bin) and it will help you to become familiar with the process. Once you've done it once it's like riding a bike and there are so many more things you can extract other than dmt.

Nice idea, i agree that learning basic extraction processes is very useful and fun to know. I've never thought of extracting yopo though! Any info on this?!

I have smoked Anadenanthera colubrina (cebil or vilca) seeds once from the Andes before.

More then I had expected.

I felt like I was high on an Andean plain with white peak mountians around me. Like I was alone and desolated.

Experienced tryptamine induced hyperspace.

A spiritual tool.

one guy i talked to just uses isopropyl alcohol. apperently very effective.


oh and someone mentioned that it was a good legal high. which it is not. not really a "high" and is far from legal :smile:

wow thanks guys...im definatly trying thast either tonight or tomarow...ill let ya know how it goes. 

i am veryfamiliar with basic extractions, and hash.  but i prefer not to extract things as it gives me a greater peace of mind with natural raw material.  maybe someday ill try yopo extract, for now jsut raw though. 

my main goal is to have a couple yopo trees, i love them!  very perdy.

ps. whenever i do anything that isnt weed i keep a bucket close by :wink:

If you want to do extractions, there is a site with a ton of info on basic chemistry lab technique and so on. I posted it in the od forum. Just for example, it tells you how to use a sep funnel to do an extraction and how to remove contaminants. It also shows how to dry a solution. I watched one video on how to do thin film chromatagraphy and they made it look simple. They have lots of advanced stuff too. Look for the thread about MIT lab courses.
