Straight Verm Casing-Sterilization Necessary?

Been looking at a lot of teks and in the archives, and gotten a little confused. Some teks say to sterilize your verm, others make no mention. What say all of you?
Going with straight verm casing at the moment.

ya... its easy enough to nuke it for 5 minutes and remove alot of future contam issues....(stir half way thru with sterile thing)
