I'm NOT going to Afghanistan

Because I'm a pothead.  :sad: :stash: :sad:

Instead, I got fired.  So I'll be here, or there...I'll be around, and my boy will be saving the world without me.  (He's a pothead too, I'd like to add)

This is the greatest unjust... I feel :sad:.

What will I do for 6 months?

Should I stay on base?  Should I go back to Toronto?  I just don't know.  If I stay on base, I won't have to move around, but it's hard to find good work.  If I go back to Toronto, I'll be able to get a good job, but then I'll just have to come back here anyways.

UGH.  I don't know what to do.  I wasn't planning for this.

Will they LET you stay on base now that you're no longer affiliated? Do you NEED to work for the next 6 months until your fiancee gets home? Can you find any work locally that will pay enough to support you? Do you have many friends/family where you are, or in TO?

These are the questions I would be asking in your situation. Sorry to hear the bad news, hope things work out.

Hi. My name is CherryBom. My friends call me Bom.

I live on a military base in Canada with my Fiancee. He drives armoured vehicles for a living. I (used to) work for NFP. (Non-Public-Funding) NPF sends over employees to Bosnia and Afghanistan to help out troops and take care of all the supplies and stuff like that.

My man, Adam, is going over to drive armoured vehicles. I applied to go over and help NPF with supplies. My application was accepted and I was going to start my training in 2 weeks, but instead...they found a joint in my locker when they were doing inventory.

One joint. I don't smoke pot at work, I speculate that it fell out of my purse or jacket while I was working. I keep a $300 float full of company money in my locker, so they were fully entitled to open my locker and count the cash to make sure it was all there.

Since there is a zero tolerance drug policy, I got canned and my tour isn't happening anymore.

Adam still goes, I stay here...

But I have no job now.

I'd probably hang in Toronto, but then you'd probably be missin' your guy, maybe you couldn't live without'em.

He probably doesn't want fired or I'd say have him plant a joint in his locker or somewhere they'd find it too, but that's probably asking for trouble.

I can stay on base. I live here. I have an apartment, but work is hard to find for non-military members.

I can go back to Toronto, but when he gets home...then I'll have to come back here. So I guess I should keep things simple and just stay here and find work...but it would be very theraputic to go back to TO. Moving twice more doesn't sound like fun, however.

I are stuck.

hmmmm dude that sucks...ALOT I know how much going to afganhistan meant to you. I'm sorry. But know we all love you for being a pothead. You can come home if you want, I'll help you move twice if you want. Actually you know I'll do what ever you want to help make it better.

Here's a pipedream for ya....

you come home....we move out to T.O...get sweet jobs bartending or open a coffee shop...have bit of fun for 6 months...the boy comes home..decides he hates the military after seeing dead babies and moves back to T.O...ummm either he moves in with us...or I like move out or something so you guys can live together....you get married...I probably get drunk....pipesdreams ya?
