smell of poop

is the smell of properly pasturized poop diff. than the smell of improperly pasturized poop? how long should it take for the poop inside the oven bag to heat up to 175 degrees? i had it in the oven for about 40 or so minutes while the oven was 300 degrees and the meat thermometer didn't move at all. i turned the heat down to 200 from there and left it for two hours. when i retrieved it the thermo said that the temp was around 140 degrees....WTF!!???!?!?! that was all the time i had.

how long does it usually take to heat up...i think i had a thermometer malfunction...what do you all think?

Well I just did the same today. I started at around 350, but after 30 mins mycobag was getting to soft for comfort. I bumped it down to 200 then after 2 hours thermo was at 140 and seemed to be rising visibly so I went down to 170. 45 mins later temp was at 175ish and I had to leave the oven open so it didnt rise any more. Then I started timing.

i put the poo at 150F in the oven and leave it as it is for 6 hours. no thermometers,no checking. Just waiting.
