Manes of the Shaggy Kind

WEnt shroom hunting this afternoon with Borealis and his lady friend and although we found no cyans wehere we went we did l find some shaggy manes (Coprinus Comatus).
Here are five images of a single found cluster. There were several more popping up one here and one there.
mj.
Sorry I w found no cyans today. We need rain and a serious 3-5 degree or more of drop in temperature to really bring up a large flushing of these babies.

I had to walk home in the rain today. Normally I would take the bus but I thought "I've been wanting rain so bad, I'm going to enjoy it with a walk home in it." Glad to report that I got completely drenched. (in Bham). Sitting here an hour after getting home my hair is still wet! Good!

Haha cool
I've seen two clusters of those while I've been out on my 2 hunts so far. I was wondering what they were. I thought they were really old mushrooms that were rotting or something. I was suprised to find out that that's the way they're suposed to be when I saw the pictures.

I thought it was a good day MJ. Let's not forget the pictures I showed you of the two new cyan patches I found this morning. Right about now, they are guzzling that sweet precip we all dance for. So many nice environments, the final piece of the puzzle is coming to fruition. Fruit mushrooms!

How long does it take for most mushrooms to pop up after new rain?

Hmmm, most mushrooms will begin to fruit some time between the day after it rains up to weeks depending on things like shade, humidity, habitat, ect.

Cool, good luck. I find that the fruiting will continue longer in the woods or other similar places. But some species like coprinus for example will tend to fruit the day after a rain and be gone by mid-afternoon as they melt away. Normally a good rain will give me about 4 days to a week of good hunting in the woods. I'm just speaking of mushrooms in general though.
