Is there anyway to make the search function not display replies, but only threads? It is really frustrating to try to find anything...

i totally agree
you have to search to find date and name
then sift through posts to find it
just to read regular (threaded)
very frustrating....
or go completly mad doing it the way it is now...
any one else notice this?

Oh hey, I was about to come to the suggestion forum to post a thread regarding exactly this topic. Then I see this thread and figure "Hey, no need, somebody already did it..." Then i find that its started with a quote of mine....haha...that irony! ;)
Anyway, I thoroughly agree with myself...It makes it impossible to find any useful information. Also, we should be able to include more than one search term, as in both poster and key word, as well as check which forums we'd like to search specifically. I don't know what mods to the cgi scripts would need to be made, but many WWWthreads boards have this, so they probably are out there on the board hacking sites.

just wanted to show how much this sux
makes it almost worthless
go to advise a newbie to search
but how can you do that when it is such a pain in the ass
much better to have people ask the same shit over and over again...
guess were spoiled from dd and other's...

The search now only searches for threads and not replies also. It also opens the thread in flat mode instead of threaded. Enjoy.

Just one more thing:
if there are more results then specified and you click on the NEXT button at the bottom of the page, the next page is still the old style, regardles of the search method you chose before.
And if you then on the second page choose PREVIOUS, also the first page is old style.

I agree. I did a search on cosmo (yesterday? the day before?)
because of all the... well you all know... and it was a pain in the ass(as always). I did it again and it is MUCH better. I think it is funny that Hawk's recent post is there because of McMan's name. ;)
