Thickness of casing layer!
    #319176 -

Does it make a difference when it's thinner than y'all suggest?
About 2 cm??
I cased 2 boxes with a thinnner casing layer than usual. This was done 5 day's ago, mycelium growth all over the 50/50+ right as I type. So I initiated pinning by giving them light!
The boxes have been standing on a heat pad!
Should I put a layer on the thin layer that is almost fully grown with mycelium or should I leave them in light????

My monkey has the best method for applying the top casing layer he uses verm... first of all he doesn't moisten the verm. and sprinkles a handful of it dry ontop of the substrate just so it is covered... then he mists it to the proper moisture....quicker colonization and easier application... i think most of us know that moist verm is kinda sloppy to handle - peace and good luck

I just thought when picking the shrooms, casing is alway's ripped out. So in time the rye might become visible.
So you suggest to add casing when rye is visible?
