Maybe if my friend had at least one cd of theirs in his well over 400 cd collection, I would have heard them by now, but not even my friend that I call "hippie" does,... although if I want to hear John Lennon without the beatles he is the guy to talk to, but thats no amazing feat.

Wouldnt it be cool if someone had enough of a heart to send me a burnt DEAD cd??? :grin:

Either way, I have NEVER heard the dead, and honestly I cant take hearing how great they are anymore......................I have to know for myself.

I would LOVE to see what all the fuss is about, but so far........ I havent ever heard the dead. :gd_icon: (EVER)

You need to see them live as soon as possible! There are lots of cute hippie chicks at concerts :wink: Few things in the world are as amazing as a Dead concert, imho :smile:

(I like pink floyd the way a religous extremist love nonsense, I am lin love and love is blind, I dont care what anyones reasons are, if you dont like Pink, then you just DONT GET IT :wink: (music in general)

Apples and oranges, my friend. I'm with you on Pink Floyd. They're fucking amazing! But to me, the Dead just sounds a little too...mellow(or maybe "dead" would be a better adjective here). I remember before I heard them, I was expecting them to sound all trippy and psychedelic, but instead what I heard was soft Country-Rock with simple beats and not enough energy. Good to fall asleep to, but not something I can really get into.

Ive always liked the dead, but i like just about all music in general, from pink floyd to king crimson and all that good jazz.

My sound isnt working, so I will let you know what I think of the dead when the package from Phishgirl arrives :thumbup:

As for my broken sound card, if anyone knows how I can get a driver for an old trident 4dWAVE(dx) pic audio sound card I would love to hear it.

I have tried everything, I even know the serial numbers etc on my chip and I still cant find a driver.........oh well, I plan on buying a new computer anyway, but I was sure starting to like suprnova, and straming jazz is pretty cool to. :frown:
(it will be ahile beofore I can afford a new computer.....or at least a new sound card)

The longest I've heard the dead is 20 seconds... And I'm almost always in the pub, so what? Musical tastes all differ from person to person, not necessarily everyone likes black metal, but I do !

Yeah don't believe the hype. They're good but I agree with silversoul7, I expected them to sound more trippy and all after all I read about them on these boards. I was a little bit disappointed
