To Birth or not to Birth
    #311570 - 05/07/01 05:53 PM (23 years, 4 months ago)

I have 12 1/2 pint jars inoculated with eq's, kept at a steady temp of 86 degrees for a total of about 3 or 4 weeks. 2 of the jars are far ahead of the others, about 50-60% colonized but seem to have stopped colonizing for the past week or so.

I was just curious whether it would be worth it to attempt to crumble the colonized parts of these 2 and case them, or birth them serparataly... and if that was done could I expect shrooms by this coming weekend? Or whether I should just be more patient and let them go longer...

if they are over half colonized you could do crumble but if you have 2 ready why not just use them and let the rest finish you are just being to impatient, do the jars have enough moisture in them?? or do you smell anything funky coming from them??-------as far as mushies by the weekend your asking for and impossible task

behind every great fortune there is an even greater crime

These 2 arent finished, they are about 50-60% colonized.
I realize getting shrooms by this weekend is impossible.

As far as the jars, they seem plenty moist... I was thinking maybe theres too much co2, and taking the tape off would help... or loosening the lids.. I dont know.
