Are we ALL insane??

Sometimes, I wonder if I'm going insane. 

But then I think that it's needless to compare my mental state to that of other peoples.  I think that we're all crazy.  If it becomes a problem for you, that's when you should seek help. 

Myself, I enjoy being insane.  :smile:

lots of people are always going on, some times even bragging about how they are crazy
i like to think we are all just a little starbge but not insaine

I've thought I was going insane before too, but I've come to realize that lots of people think that. Like Shroomism says- we live in an insane world so it's hard to know what sanity is.

Insanity is what happes when one reaches into the depths of there minds in search of something. Many great thinkers think them selfs into insanity. Looking for answers to almost impossible questions. The kinda questions most wouldnt care to think about. That alone puts them on another level since they arnt thinking as the "whole" , and as this search progresses and manefests into something greater they get more withdrawn into there own minds deeper and deeper untill they have little sight or preception of the outside world only the world they have created.

Western societies have been conditioned to label radical thinkers, innovators, and ones involved in specific counterculture as 'insane', imo.

Annnnnnd I had a light saber and my friend was there and I said "you look like an indian" and he said "you look like satan" and he found a stick and a rock and he named the rock ooga booga and he named the stick Stick and we both thought that was pretty funny. We got eaten alive by mosquitos but didn't notice til the next day. I stepped on some glass while wading in the swamp and cut my foot open, didn't bother me til the next day either....yeah it was a good time, ended the night by buying some liquor for minors and drinking nips and going to he diner and eating chicken fingers, and then I went home and went to bed.

insane implies that there's something out there that you could concider sane...

This is much at how I look at it! It's apparent that considering just how crazy people behave, there's no real such thing as insanity. Think about how many things people do and believe that are just absurd, so I say be happy with your insanity! Hell, sometimes I think the happiest people are the ones with the least sanity, so if they're able to accomplish that, are they really the insane ones?


Unless you're talking about insanity as in naturally occuring dautra-like mental states, in which case thorizine works wonders.

There is not one person who does not have at least a tiny bit of psychosis in them.  I learned this in psych class.  Both in my book and out of the professor's mouth.

Also, phiosophically, there is no "normal," so your craziness is fine in my book.  In fact, it is probably what makes you the individual you are.
