painting the metal on a lava lamp
    #3055203 -

What sort of paint isn't gonna, uh, come off if I paint the base different. Those bulbs get real hot so I dunno if I have to worry or whatever. Anyone know about this?

No bodda. The whole ratings system doesn't work very well in the first place IMHO.

I've had good results with the Krylon metal paints, although I can't tell you how they do with heat...

They make some spray paints specifically for high-temp applications. But you might not get a real variety of colors to choose from. They are designed mainly for use on engine components where things will get hot.
