Cold Shock Dunking - In Jar or Not

Greetings Earth People - If I intend to cold shock my cakes, the only thing I am unclear on is if I need to dunk them while they are in the jars, or if I take them out of the jars and then dunk them. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Best to dunk them out the jars, most peple tend to place
them into a deep water tight, water filled container, that you can
lid, then place the whole think in the fridge, thus cold shocking, and dunking in one.

You'll need to take them out definitely, mostly to clean off the verm layer :wink: they can either be put back in the "cleaned" jar (if I do I usually wash the jar out with antibacterial soap/bleach) or like Loki said put them all in a large tupperware filled to the brim (important) and burped causing all the air and maybe some water to exit. GL
