I agree this season may be late to start but its looking promising

Southern or starting to pop off nicely with loads of pins in several areas in a few days to a week they should be nice and perfect

any tips for hunting city parks? I try to keep in mind "woodchips" "landscaping" but then my parks are so forrested and I start looking in leaf litter areas where I expect mushrooms and always find plenty of others but no wavies, I feel like I understand where they may grow in the city, and in the forrest, but get confused and lost when it comes to forrested city park

I use google to search parks around me and look at the photos of each park and the parks where i see hardwood chips /light color woodchips around tree wells and garden beds.

Then i go and search every single location at those parks tediously

This!! The alder woodchips you want look kinda pink from Google Maps.

Also the inat app does allow sharing of specific locations of some really nice finds. All the ones in my signature (minus the cat one) you might find on there if you look hard enough lol.

Thanks for the tips fellas, I’ve had dreams involving stumbling across wild psilocybes at least once a week for the past 6 years or so, this is gonna be the season I can feel it in my bones

Nice gyms, i found a big ole patch of thses once growing directly on top of 10 massive piles of woodchips in a park in seatac once, about 100 feet from a enormous patch of cyans!! That was like 10 years ago though and for some reason that park never really has much action anymore despite said woodchips still being spread everywhere throughout the park. Or maybe im just blind!

Thanks, these were everywhere on the pile most of them were way past due. No cyanescens around yet. To those looking, we always check disc golf parks for woodchips, you can usually bring them up on google maps with reviews.

Happy halloweenies to you all.

Went out for a spooky hunting trip and hit some good spots and found a few new crazy patches that need a week to be ready.

I still haven't hit the jackpot on the coast yet but things are definitely in full swing after all the rain this week.

Also pretty sure I found my first ever liberty caps (I'll remove if I'm wrong).  They're a little past their prime but still cool.

Also fml ive been wanting to come across lib for spores to make culture to spread to some ideal elk fields in nw orefon if possible

What was the habitat for the libs was it private property with cattle or a public field with elk?

And yes those are libs

No need, there’s probably not a single grass field in NW Oregon that doesn’t already have libs growing in it. They’re just tiny and down inside the grass. You gotta really look very close so see them.

Libs are by far the most numerous Psilocybe in the pnw, it’s not even close they’re so common, pretty much anywhere there is grass there are libs in the fall.

They’re so extremely tiny, so small it’s not at all worth the effort to find them IMO. They dry out to where the stems are about the thickness of a hair. You can pick hundreds and they will dry out to a ridiculous seemingly impossible tiny amount of weight.

You pretty much need a milligram scale like for dmt (0.001g scale)just to weigh them once dry. to get a tenth of a gram to register on a 0.1g scale it takes a lot

Those 2 shroom360 found actually huge, about as big as they get.

Those guys over in the uk idk how they do it. It must take a huge amount of patience to collect a substantial amount of them. We have it easy over here with our literal carpets of thicc meaty wood lovers all over the place everywhere you look. They make stuntzii seem big by comparison lol.

There’s a reason nobody hunts for them around here. Even tho they’re the easiest to find by far once you know how. When you do find some you’ll see what I mean.

But they are probably the coolest looking shrooms. Also they make little (very little) psychedelic truffles in the dirt too which is badass.
(Old pics just to show I’m not talking out my ass)
it took hours to find those in the white trays they dried out to barely over 2 grams I’m not kidding. Same amount as one single (very) big azurescens, not worth it.
