I just went to Walmart, I spent almost all my friends money on stuff that wasn't on the list, and now I'll have to buy it nofrills with my money

But I found chia seed jam, I just saw a video about how to make it at home, I didn't know it was a product you could buy, idk what I'll eat it on, it could flavour a carnivore icecream I think, but I don't really like making carnivore ice cream, it's too much work (and too much cream)

I couldn't find the Kewpie Japanese mayo, I looked both in the condiment and international isle, so I got this may instead, I read this brand actually uses acacado oil and other brands lie

I got this wing sauce

And this nut butter, I'm hoping its more tatsy then a plain peanut, while being half the price of hazelnut butter

I'm going to go see if its not to late to collect a couple cups of rowan to make a pork sauce

Quote:
.Here's a full recipe. Juniper is strong, so **4 to 5 berries per cup of rowan** is plenty. You strain everything out at the end, so the flavour comes through without the pieces.

**Check the juniper first.** Use common juniper (*Juniperus communis*), with blue-black berries and needles in whorls of three. The berries need to be ripe, which means dusky blue with a whitish bloom, not green. Some junipers, like savin, are toxic, and plenty of ornamental ones are poorly identified, so be sure of the plant before you pick. Large amounts of juniper aren't great for the kidneys either, but a few berries in a sauce is fine.

## Rowan and juniper sauce for pork
**Makes:** about 3/4 cup, enough for 4 servings

**Ingredients**
- 1 cup rowan berries, frozen solid for a few days
- 1/2 cup water
- 4 to 5 juniper berries, lightly crushed
- 1 small bay leaf
- 1 sprig fresh thyme (or 1/2 tsp dried)
- 4 to 5 black peppercorns, cracked
- 2 allspice berries, or a small pinch of ground allspice
- 1 small strip of orange or lemon peel (optional, no white pith)
- 3 to 4 tbsp erythritol, adjusted to taste
- 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional)
- 1 tbsp cold butter
- Pinch of salt

**Method**
1. Put the frozen berries, water, juniper, bay, thyme, peppercorns, allspice, and peel in a small pot.
2. Bring to a gentle boil, then simmer for 15 minutes, mashing the rowan as it softens. This also finishes off the parasorbic acid.
3. Press everything through a fine sieve into a clean pot, squeezing out the liquid. Discard the solids.
4. Add the erythritol, vinegar, mustard, and salt. Simmer 5 to 8 minutes until it coats a spoon. It thickens more as it cools.
5. Taste. If it's too bitter, add sweetener. If it's flat, add a bit more vinegar or salt.
6. Off the heat, whisk in the cold butter for a glossy finish.

**Pork pairing**
- Rub the pork with salt, pepper, thyme, and 2 or 3 crushed juniper berries before roasting or pan-frying.
- Deglaze the pan with a splash of water or stock, stir in a spoonful or two of the sauce, and let it reduce.
- Serve small spoonfuls on the side, since the sauce is intense.

**Variations**
- **More traditional:** add a small grated apple or crab apple in step 1. It softens the bitterness and adds pectin, but also carbs.
- **Richer:** swap the water for pork or bone broth.
- **Thicker:** stir in 1/2 tsp chia once it's off the heat and let it sit 10 minutes.

**Carbs:** Rowan has a fair amount of natural sugar, so the batch likely lands around 15 to 20 g total carbs. That works out to roughly 2 to 3 g per tablespoon, but measure your own berries to be sure. It keeps about 1 to 2 weeks in the fridge, and it freezes well.

Its been coming along, these past 2 weeks i was out of sober living and treatment wanting to go back on the trains which once again the moment I left I ended up relapsing and having an overdose before getting to the hop out this time.

When i got out of the hospital i caught out and made it about as far as dunsmuir, CA then decided to turn around. Once I got back i still wasn't sure of the outcome or what would happen since I was out of a place to live and no treatment to go back to, so used for about another week, was about to hop out again, was on a nice 53 well Z-train (hot shot) about to depart for so-cal, and was planning to hit the sunsetline east but didnt even make it out of the yard.

I Was full of anxiety on the train porch knowing that if I didnt get off the train I might not come back this time. With the way things have gone pretty much since I've been out there its just gotten worse year by year, my habits have gotten worse, and id probably just be dead within a month or 2, maybe less.

I don't have a death wish anymore like I did for most of my time on the road as the result of experiences with dmt/psilocybin a couple years back which started to bring me out of it and actually want to see a different life for myself. Not for anyone else but myself. No matter how that looks or other people's judgements towards recovery. I had tried everything but treatment and still kept falling back into the same old habits (alcohol/fentanyl) with the addition of 7oh despite wanting a different life, and it became torture. That's what even got me to want to try treatment/soberliving out a couple months back.

once I heard the train airing up for the last time after they finished building it i threw my shit off and walked back to detox. Detox was able to set me up with treatment again, Currently getting readmitted to the center I was just at, and getting housing placement by the end of the day.

Compared to the way I was trying to get sober the most clean time I had gotten so far since I was 13 without anything in my system was through treatment/soberliving. Which clean time is what it is but for me that was huge and showed me it was possible.

I'm honestly glad to be back. Its not easy but I genuinely want this for myself, not getting over confident or cocky with it this time around just Learning to trust the process a little more and so far its been what it is.

The more I do the right thing intuitively and work on staying clean the more doors open up. The more I try to run, hide and use the more my world becomes a single track to a depressing dead end.

We all have to die and I know recovery won't absolve all my problems but it is at least giving me a foundation, and a safe place to work through the early processes of it.

Its been rough but continuing on with it

I seriously miss work coffee. My boss will occasionally hook it up with a really nice latte but there was something wonderful about being able to depend on free work coffee..
