Transferring from black mold contaminated plates

Is it a bad idea to transfer from plates infected with black mold? Seems like you'd be introducing some of those spores to your working environment if you use a flowhood. But maybe its negligible if you work quickly and possibly run an air purifier after you're done working. What is the recommended practice? At what point do you draw the line in terms of mold?

I've heard folks talk about forgoing the flowhood with moldy plates to avoid that, and using an SAB instead in this situation

If it's bad enough to forego the flow hood then I think it would just fill a SAB too?

Yes use a still air box , a Flowood will simply blow mold spores across your work area , in a still air box....well the air is still.

I would start new plates, or short of that, use an sab like others have said.

If you plate the plin you should be able to snag clean growth before any mold spores germinate on the new plate, you’ll just want to do that transfer asap after this one

Always try to take a piece of myceliem or even a pin from the infected plate as far from mold growth as possible. Your plate doesnt look too bad so this should be pretty easy.
