I confess I started looking through photos from a few years ago... And I was hit by a sense of loss and deep nostalgia. Itโ€™s rare for this particular feeling to visit me โ€” it really should have its own name.

I saw people who are no longer here, I saw times that have passed... I saw a version of myself that's gone now. Damn bias of taking photos only during the best moments, or maybe it's just the mind idealizing them โ€” I don't know. When I look at things this way, I get attached to life and I just don't want to die.

I know, it's stupid โ€” but that's how I feel it. It feels like every past time was better. The mind is a strange thing.

I'm grateful I came here and to have you guys, "the strangers," even as I connect more or less along the way. Damn...

Damn, I don't know how to take that. So you got Mod just to moderate yourself then?

Btw have you been TC and a Mod for long?

I was TC first can't remember when that was exactly,  maybe 13 years ago. I then got modded about 10.5 years back. So it's been a minute

It's a good chunk of a lifetime, for sure.

Fid, I know โ€” I've already seen a few things around the forum. And growing in the bathtub, using towels, and I'm sure plenty of other things too. Still, if there's one thing I admire in people, it's curiosity and perseverance.

Achieving "success" is easy โ€” the hard part is persevering and having enough curiosity to get obsessed โ€” to actually make it happen.

Theres a Portuguese word that describes those feelings, gathering them all in one word: Saudade

I know that feeling very well mate. Specially with how the world is going to shit.

Thanks a ton, 0_tonin.

I must have heard that word thousands of times in songs, but I never knew what it meant โ€” and it is definitely that exact feeling/sensation. So at least from now on, Iโ€™ll be able to name it without having to resort to a bunch of rambling. :hatsoff:

Hugs

I completely agree. For me getting proficient with the basics was important beyond just being able to grow with a high level of success. It was also to give me a foundation to be able to satisfy my curiosity and push the envelope of why and how things work with the organism.

I remember the battles Pasty when I was just lurking (didn't share projects back then and didn't join Topia til' maybe 2019 or 20'), your defense, was just as good as your offense.  The amount of Mono's you pushed out... the only one I can think of that has us all beat is Faht, but the sheer volume... epic shit Pasty.

Mini mono's and poly, to Mono's and MP tape, yeah buddy, nostalgic feelings make me feel all fuzzy inside, Kendrick said... "ain't no legends left if my legend ends" that about sums it up.

If this dood isn't in your top 5 of TC's, you are insanely crazy... BOD u up there too, shoeboxes forever, but your activity level PW was astounding.  Hats off to you sir, you could NEVER be replicated OR replaced.  Alright, getting into my felski's... not something I normally do or talk about others... I have on occasion told Faht he's my favorite grower besides myself.  :laugh2:

I think it was FrankH that was pasteurizing coco at the time (wild discussions), some nice battles of poly vs MP... what was it... tight AF bottom holes, Loose top holes for poly days.  Man, I'll be 49 in November, SON of A...  I started out in late 11' or 12', I don't count the failed attempt (homestead book company, back when I read High Times religiously) in 97'. I was doomed from the start knowing what I know now.  Game changer TC's who changed the game for the future to be.  :peace:
