1st Grow newbie GT Report ongoing * 1

Hello fellow shroomers,

thanks to this forum i was able to gather lots of infos that helped me in my first attempt of growing. I prepared and sterilized grain myself, inoculated it successfully and prepared some dialed in Monotubs. I also already spawned to bulk 2 weeks ago and now im wondering if i should just keep it as it is or increase FAE on the tubs, since i only see a few tiny pins on one of them so far. By opening the lid or something like that. The tubs are under 24h light and the air is exchanged frequently in the box the tubs stand in.

Not what i expected to read but thanks alot :laugh:
The ratio was roughly 1:3, i used 2,5lb of inoculated grain and 1 brick of coir with 3 litres of water. When do you think the pinset will form? Me and my friends are excited for our first trip haha

Depends on the genetics you used, and mushrooms always do what they want to do when they want to do it

Alright thanks :smile: It was a multispore syringe, Golden Teacher. I just realized it was your post on "Modern Fruiting Conditions" i stumbled across when i was putting to bulk. Before that i somehow just digged through old threads without noticing :laugh: Saved my ass to know i can put on micropore from the beginning, thanks for that :laugh:. I wonder why that method isnt shown in most youtube videos.

Make sure not to mention vendor names on the shroomery as per the Guidelines, please edit out the vendor name at your earliest convenience

And Im not sure why people keep 'choking' their tubs, probably because they get their info from outdated books

Regardless, Im glad you've adapted to the times, you're going to fit right into this community:thumbup:

So the 3 Tubs are all in Fruiting now, but i think 2 seem abit too moist and one abit too dry or am i wrong? The one with the liner was the first one i did, one i did 2 days later with abit of a thicker casing layer and the 3rd the morning after. So a thicker casing layer seems to help with faster pinning? What should i do? Or still litfa

In the first picture you have some bacterial blotch on a couple of caps, most likely a pseudomonas species because of high humidity, so might be a good idea to increase fresh air exchange a little.

Second and third picture looks okay at this point. I stop misting after pins comes in, if I see my substrate drying out I prefer to hydrate by bottom watering opposed to misting.

Ohh you mean the white fuzzy stuff? Good to know, i put the lid on the latches so now the top is open abit. I made the tubs nearly identical in weight/water ratio and also identical ammount of holes on all of them. So i might need to open the others soon too, will add like 2 Holes for the next grow i guess

Nah, the darker spots on some of the caps.



Not sure you need to make more holes, but rather remove the tape from the holes you already have, but that is up to you, I don't have to deal with gnats etc so always do what makes sense to your environment.

Fuzzy feet isn't really an issue unless it crawls up the stipe.

Not to you, but it is to your mushrooms. It doesn't seem like a lot and is pretty common so increase fresh air a little and let it ride :rockon:

Ok thanks, i increased Fae on all 3 abit by placing the lid ontop of the clamps. They grow so fast now, i get the same godlike feeling when first growing weed, its amazing :laugh: This might become a longterm hobby even tho it was brought to me by coincidence
