Right on, glad it works for ya. But I settled on a flowhood orientation that takes up my less space than the traditional horizontal flow orientation. The one on the left is my original box I built like 12 years ago. It started off as a side-flow, then forward-flow, then it's final evolution is the down-flow. The second pic is one I built for a local myco-buddy I work with, I apparently took the pic before installing the pre-filter and plexiglass face shield.

Those are both great builds dude, nice work. And yeah I was kind of sceptical to my fan filter unit, but after reading through the official fan filter thread I took the risk and ordered one.

Except for a couple of damaged filters most seem really pleased with them and mine has been flawless for about 6 months now, I contacted the seller and made sure they would secure it well for shipping, came in a customized wooden crate.

Made a "frame" for a H13 filter I can get cheap from Ikea, basically sterile air going IN the FFU but oh well, guess the front filter will last longer then




Small rubber feet to take some of the vibration.


And duct tape to hold the filter in place

Some clean air company. Apparently they had a ton of units running in foodstorage fridges and whatnot and once newer versions came out they refurbish them and sell them. Got mine for around 850$ and also got some prefilters with it. Speaking of which I should buy some more prefilters





I haven't used it in a while and I live in a dusty area. I need to clean it and around it before using it again. I have VERY limited space rn so it is on the floor lol

I see, well yours looks like a better quality then mine. These units are very common, mine doesn't come with a prefilter or latches because it is designed to be mounted in a ceiling and the weight of the unit is what seals the filter against the unit. I paid $120 for the unit and $500 for shipping

It doesn't matter though they're all made in one or another factory in China, as long as it does the job it's all the same to me. Haven't seen a bacterial satellite since I got it so no complaints here


But duuuude you need to turn that shit on and let it run for several hours to get as much dust off as possible and then cover it with something. I just cut the plastic the filter came with and use that to cover the front when I'm not using it, you'll probably regret it if you don't



Getting back on track, we finally got some rain, it's been so long that my kids thought it was snowing outside

My Azurescens patches are probably having a fucking party right now, it's been so dry I had to give it some water once a week. We're also getting some lower temperatures so I guess I'll be taking a look every day from today and til I see pins or snow

Reconstruction work of my cyan patch has been finished.
The provisional stones which fixed the wire mesh were replaced by some tent pegs.
Hope this will prevent the boars from digging my patch any further.
This is fortress cyanescens.
Filled the edges with some mix of soaked woodchips and soil and added more leaves on top to carmouflage the patch.
While working on the patch i could see that the myc has already started colonizing the new woodchips.

Today i will start the same procedure with my azure patch.

Again it got completely digged by boars.
I have added about 15 quarts of freshly colonized woodchips and covered it with soaked woodchips again.
This time i have also added a wire mesh to keep the boars away.
Will put some more soaked chips and leaves on top of the mesh to carmouflage the patch.

My Ps. azurescens 'Astoria Ossip' patch also got banged by boars, but not as terrible as the cyan patch.
They are everywhere in that area and they are quite agressive. I almost got attacked by one while checking my patches.
A friend who is a hunter gave the me the advice to pee next to the patches to scare them away.

Two weeks ago i finally tried my cyanescens fruits i had harvested last year.
My bodyweight is about 65 kg and i took 2 grams dry.
It was an extremely deep and very visual trip. My whole apartment looked like a mysterious castle. Behind my closed eyes i got visuals like i never had before. Three-dimensional objecs like an turquoise peacock and cubes with faces on it appeared. It was one of the most colorful trips i have ever had. Looking forward to try the azures as soon as they produce fruits.
