So at my new job I had to do a questionnaire and fil out some stuff about physical and mental health

One of the health and wellbeing people did a confidential call with me and spoke to me about some of the stuff I'd put down (neurodivergence, burnout and PTSD.
I didn't need to go into detail, it was basically just her checking in t see if there might be accomadations and whether the role was a good fit given these issues. She was good coz at first I was like oh fuck they're gonna exclude me coz of it. Although I'd already signed a contract so they would have been screwed if they had then declined me because it definitely would have been discrimination based on disability.

Anyway she was cool, and she even overshared a little about her being autistic too. It made me laugh because it was really an autistic thing for her to overshare that with me (and tbh a little unprofessional) BUT that's exactly how I like to connect with people through deep stuff like that. So it was just cool meeting someone (over the phone) in the business I'm gonna be working at, who obviously gets away with being fairly unmasked. I like it.

I've never actually been asked how I am at my work ever. So to be started off like that is pretty nice.

(and yes it's confidential and yes my manager doesn't know about it. I even spoke to her about whether I should tell my manager that I'm autism but she said just see how you feel. Personally I like to keep it private but if you know the signs it's pretty obvious from working with me)

Unfortunately all the stuff that you filled out for the position you're filling is entirely common. To a point where it needs to be accommodated if they want workers. I'm glad you are in a good place though.

That's exactly what I've been readinf about unmasking. If they accommodated neurodivergence it would help everyone.

Finished the first round of edits for the fifth book in my series.  Hopefully, the first one will be in a good enough state soon where I can start shoppin around for covers and shit.  I'd shit a brick if I could get it published this comin winter.

OPT: just bought 200 days worth of the supplements I take that really help with my ADHD, at 50% off. Actually helps so well (paired with caffeine) that I don't even think I need to trial stimulants.

Was cool. Watched him for 5 mins.
The funny bugger cleaned himself for 5 mins then proceeded to shove his head in a bunch of dirt looking for worms.

Their necks are crazy and turn every which way.

It was only last week I was marvelling at the ducks cleaning themselves. Little ducklings still with the fluff feathers just automatically do it. I find these automatic blueprint behaviours fascinating.

Yeah it was really cool. Funny when I was watching them I thought how humans shower before going to work and getting filthy. We are animals too, after all.

I also saw an adult duck chase another one and pull out some of his tail feathers. I felt bad for the assaulted duck but it was pretty funny. They were being fed by a couple, along with some pigeons and cockatoos. There was a disabled looking cocky who was getting around with the rest of the group and wasn't getting bullied it was pretty cute.
