My first trip * 4

This is the journal entry I didn't know I had. I took a single tab of acid I purchased from an older kid. It was white blotter paper wrapped in tin foil. I remember being excited to take it but worried about my mom so forced myself to wait till evening to take it.

7:27 PM: Today, May 30, 1997, is a day to remember. At 9 PM I will drop acid for the first time. I am apprehensive of this new experience and scared, but I do know I can handle it.

9:00 PM: I have just done the deed. Inside my mouth rests a small white piece of blotting paper. There is a bitter taste. I am excited. I have turned on the Stone Temple Pilots.

9:28 PM: I've noticed a slight change. It could be  a placebo effect. A line on my ceiling feels very well defined. I feel good, happy.

9:43 PM: My bedspread is beautiful to look at. I hear my mom and have some paranoid thoughts but I can control it I am safe.

10:04 PM: It's been an hour and four minutes since I started. I don't feel too different... I do feel happier than usual, a strange glow... buzz, some kind of good feeling!

10:22 PM: Now I'm good!

11:22 PM: I turn into other people when I look at my bedspread. Music sounds real good. When I look at the door it spins around. Everything looks feels so good. My sheets look like the jungle. I am filled with laughter.


Nearly 30 years later I look back in amazement at life. Many things have come in gone, but I still find psychedelics inspiring. The image I have of that first trip is of a red dragon with orange/golden sunlight beaming out from behind that I saw int the wood grain of my door. Although not always easy or fun, psychedelics have been like that light bearing dragon in many ways over the years. Probably one the the luckiest things that happened to me.

This was the albumn I listened to. It's always felt especially trippy for me, I didn't remember why till now:

this was before the nbomes came out, some of the psychedelic amphetamines may have been going around on tabs then, but this didn't have the timeline of those. Also there was just a lot of acid going around at that time. I guess it was leonard pickards but who knows

I've tasted DOC tabs and they were much more bitter than my memory of that first tab. The notes for the DOC tab say, "The DOC is very bitter, almost acrid and maybe numbing."

Interesting report! Its always fun seeing reports from many decades gone by, like there's different perspectives of how everything works, and that translates into the reports throughout the years
