Making kefir.

I'm buying and going through 8oz daily. Cost adds up though. So I'm thinking about making my own.

How much fuss is it to keep the grains/culture going?

I just got into a rhythm of making kefir recently. Once the kefir grains are activated, all you gotta do is feed it whole milk every 1-2 days (or until the milk becomes the consistency you like). Then you strain the grains from the kefir milk into a jar (I use an oberweis milk glass).

Then you can mix it with flavors. Ive done blueberry, strawberry, raspberry etc.

So you need 1. A fermentaion container 2. A container for the finished kefir 3. Flavors of your choice. 4. The ability to check the kefir consistency in the morning.

All I do to check the consistency is to swirl the kefir in the fermentation container until its like the store bought stuff.
