Jokes aside, you’re missing out on one of the best parts of the game. It’s like only playing Tav and not Durge once.

Also, you don’t have to raid the grove to recruit her if that’s what you’re worried about. You can just knock her out in act 1 with none lethal damage then rescue her in act 2 like normal, it doesn’t actually any interactions, but do you miss out on her sitting on your face after the Grove raid.

But ya, 800 hours and not even one puppy eyes is wild work.

I get it. I knew you'd be upset. I think I'll save her in this playthrough im doing right now, maybe. As I said I also always leave Lazel to die too. Lazel disapproves of absolutely everything almost as bad as Astorian. And has a nasty habit of trying to kill my other party members in their sleep. Im guessing I worried Minthara would be similar.

The reason I always kill Minthara is for one in my first playthrough I just thought she was a boss I had to kill. One of the 3 Goblin settlment bosses. Plus I was a Paladin and I swear if you so much as have an offensive fart it'll break your oath. Didn't want to risk it.

Then honestly it became habit to do things the same in that particular quest.

But this game is meant to be played differently I shouldn't keep doing this quest the same way every playthrough. I haven't even done a dark urge playthrough in 800+ hrs.



Can I ask you sara, ive had trouble multiclassing and figuring out what the best class/multiclass is for each of the origin characters. Can you give some reccomendations?

Yeah im sure I am. Im such a goody tooshoes whenever I do something horrible in a game it makes me sick to my stomach in part as if I had done it in real life unless its really beneficial to me like Ascending Asatrion.

Shadowheart: There are a lot of ways to build her and Cleric is probably one of the few classes that taking all twelve levels of is totally viable. One of the more fun builds I did with her was 6 levels of Death Domain Cleric and 6 levels of Necromancer Wizard. Usually necromancy stuff really sucks in this game but Death domain is really good early game because it lets you cast Toll the Dead on two targets which is really strong early game and late game Wizard letting you learn every spell via scrolls and using Staff of Cherished Necromancy to just spam Circle of Death or Blight over and over is well, as powerful as it sounds and romping around with like 6 ghouls is always fun. Probably the “best” build after patch 8 is 6 Light Cleric/ 6 Bladedancer Wizard or Storm Sorcerer. I usually pick the build based on what decision I plan on having her make at the Nightsong scene.

Lae’zel: I honestly don’t multiclass her, I just do 12 levels of Eldrich Knight Fighter and call it a day every run. Honestly I usually respec Karlach the same build too because basically the only way to play Barbarian correctly is with a tavern brawler/ throw build, and I find throw builds annoying. Technically you could put a level or two into Paladin at the end but it’s not really necessary.

Gale: Bladesinger is a lot of fun and really good. I’d just do 10 levels into Bladesinger Wizard then finish off with two level of Paladin for Divine Smite.

Astarion: This build is cracked. 6 levels of Sword Bard/ 2 levels of Fighter for Action Surge, and 4 levels of Thief Rogue mostly for the extra bonus action/ offhand shot. Duel wield crossbows and get the sharpshooter feat that lets your ranged attacks deal 10 extra damage each but with a -5 to hit. Just pair that with the Risky Ring which lets you attack at advantage and you’ll never miss anyways even with the -5. Sword bard lets you use flourish four times per encounter meaning two attacks off one action. Action surge lets you flourish a second time in one turn so up to four shots, your two bonus actions are two more shots for a total of six attacks in a single turn and because of the Sharpshooter feat that’s 60 garenteed damage before you even start rolling for damage. It’s not uncommon for you to focus fire a single target for 200 damage with this build and I’ve personally soloed Raphael with it lol. Just use Hold Person from Bard then fill them with holes lol.

Wyll: This is another absolutely cracked build. 6 levels of Hexblade Warlock/ 6 levels of Paladin. Basically all you’re doing here is combining two of the absolute most overpowered spells in the game Divine Smite and Shadow Blade swings for 4d8+6 which is absolutely insane by itself but it is also psychic damage which means you can combine it with the Resonance Stone which doubles psychic damage so that means every swing deals 2(4d8+6) and that’s two swings a turn so 4(4d8+6). Oh, and did I mention all of that should be at advantage if you’re playing it right because whenever you attack a target with Shadow Blade that is lightly or heavily obscured that attack is at advantage (super easy to cheese with darkness spells). Combine that with an item or two that increase crit change and you’re basically criting on every swing which triggers Divine Smite for an additional 4d8 per swing. So both crit, they usually do, that’s and output of 4(8d8 (because critical)+6)+4d8. So ya, you basically just 1 shot most things… EDIT: I forgot the extra 2d8 thunder damage per swing from Booming Blade. So 4(8d8+6)+8d8

Karlach: Like I said earlier, most times I honestly just respect her into a warrior like Lae’zel. If you want to stick to Barbarian, Giant Barbarion came out in patch 8 and is really good. Combine it with the taven brawler feat and deal stupid amounts of damage with throw attacks, and make sure to pick up the spear from the goblin camp that returns to you so you don’t have to go around picking up your weapons after each fight. Oh ya, and dip two levels into warrior pretty early on for action surge.

Minthara: Another absolutely cracked build. 6 levels of Vengeance Paladin/ 6 levels of Shadow Magic Sorcerer. Basically the same idea as with Wyll, we are combining Shadow Blade from Sorcerer and Divine Smite from Paladin to do insane amounts of damage because of the Resonance Stone. I’m not gonna go into the math again, it’s all basically the same. The main difference is Shadow Magic lets up spam a bunch of Darkness effects to make sure Shadow Blade is always critting and your enemies can’t see shit. This takes a bit of a build around because your allies can’t see shit either unless they have dark vision from things like Darkvision either from Race, Spell or Scroll or from the Eversight Ring from act 2. If you want to try a solo run, this build is a great option.
