Am I sane or are christains mentally Ill?
    #29648371 -

I had some psychotic issues today, that the universe judges my actions and punishes me as appropriate, and like that kinda parallels god right, judges and takes action

So how is my belief that the universe is judging me any different from a religious belief?

Either I'm sane or christians are psychotic

I don't think I can be labled as having psychotic symptoms when religions are considered normal

Are religions just grandfathered in? Are they okay because they have a code of conduct, I could create a code of conduct based of what I feel, would that make my reality a new religion?

If I register a religion following my world views could I sue the psychiatrist for religious discrimination

What’s that quote about if one person has a strange idea, they’re delusional, and if two people share the same strange idea, it’s a cult, and if three people do… it’s a religion. Or something like that.

We are probably all delusional to varying degrees, or maybe even fundamentally about what reality is (if it’s anything). But if lots of society is operating on the same wavelength, they certainly wouldn’t deem that wavelength to be psychotic. When very different cultures come into contact with one another for the first time, like when Europeans came to the “new world” and found “savages”, it’s easy to resort to labeling the other culture as pathological,  rather than seeing it as an organic way of being that grew out of generations of human beings facing the trials of planet Earth, in their particular geographical and sociological niche.

I think it’s hard to establish a religion that the courts will recognize. Scientology did it, and have tax exemption… but apparently they did this via insane levels of intimidation toward government officials.

Mental illness can make you much more likely to be delusional or have irrational beliefs, but it's not a prerequisite.

What isn't sane about it. Give me the  (DSM-5) term.

Galatians 6:7

Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked.  A man reaps what he sows.

I don't think believing in Karma is mental illness.  God is the entirety of the outside world and the entirety of your inner world.  The All, no?  And of course the mystical states as an inner source of mystery.

When you mistake the anthropomorphizing of existence for a personage it gets strange for me to handle.

I realize that this is extremely common among the religious and don't discount your faith in your God.

What do you believe God is?

A distinct conscious being, the totality of existence, or something else?
