What's the title of the anime you're referring to, GC? Ristorante Paradiso is my personal favorite slice of life anime. The genre's definitely outside my wheelhouse but when it's done well it's hard to deny.

I think I watched Planetes around the same time I watched RP if I remember correctly. I can't recommend that one enough.

Clannad was the name of the game that was made into an anime. The anime was surprisingly flushed out considering the thin content it was derived from.

I was watching Gundam Seed Destiny, loved the show when I was a young boy

Haven't gotten too deep into it yet, but oddly enough, it's been very entertaining

at least 8/10, holds up well

The characters were exquisitely real.
It was so beautifully sad.
I loved it.

I believe this was the first anime based off of a date Sim game. I don't know who the hell was in charge of that adaptation. But they took very creative liberties that paid off.


Clannad was Kyoto Animation (KyoAni), the one the psycho firebombed with all the people inside.  One of the all time great studios.

ended up on a trip to japan right when Gundam was celebrating a big anniversary. hotel i was staying in at Kyoto had completely free Gunpla runners for the taking. ended up properly watching the 0079 compilation movies when i got home, very enjoyable. and then i realize that a 6-hour movie trilogy was like less than 1% of Gundam media, and it's like ohhhhh i'm here forever i guess. i mean i'm not complaining but still, damn

Let's shine light on a Netflix original

Blue eye samurai.
I really enjoyed this actually it's just that classic story of vengeance that we need right now.

It still got an emotionally touching core to it and you feel like you care about these characters almost immediately.
What I found to be the most enjoyable part was the choreography of the fights themselves. Which looked good, very good in fact.
The animation was computer generated but done in such a way where it almost felt like a moving painting at times.
What I found most surprising was some full frontal nudity. That's a Netflix animated original with full frontal nudity which I've never heard of before. That is not necessarily a selling point, but it felt like a step forward that a lot of art especially stuff made for streaming services can't take.

That gives you an idea of the level of violence that is also permitted in this. It's not holding very much back.
I'm looking forward to the next season which has already been confirmed. If you haven't seen this yet and you're in the mood for some bloody vengeance with a katana this is the place to start.

Really strong performance from the main character.
Excellent performance from the main villain.

In the not distant enough future. Drug wars are waged over a popsicle dispensed after you successfully make a bowel movement.
This has affected the entire earth because all of the energy is generated from sewage. The entire economy now driven by the foods causing people constipation because the popsicle is a laxative and incredibly addictive.
If you overuse this drug you'll turn into something like a little blue goblin with the mind of a child.

They all work together & call themselves the diaper gang.
A bunch of jolly drug addicts riding around on their rollerbladamatrons.
They run around stealing batches of the drugs where they can. When one day the smartest amongst them had a brilliant plan.

What follows is a really violent nonsensical fun anime with a lot of pretty awesome action sequences.
