It only summarizes the poast without looking at the OP or the poast it is in reply to. I feel it might do a better job if it takes the OP and the poast the poast is in reply to into account.

The AI has absolutely no clue what is going on although it's pretty obvious by reading the title of the thread and the OP.


I have to admit that I don't use it often but I was curious what it had to say about this example just for shits and giggles.

With some users, bottom right instead of saying Regenerate in green it could say Degenerate in red and link to their general ratings or ban record :evil:

Thanks, that's a useful example of the current approach failing in an obvious way.

You're absolutely correct that we could get better summaries if we included the entire chain of replies up to that point, if not the entire thread. I've thought about it, but that quickly starts to multiply our resource usage and I'm not sure the benefits would warrant it. My impression is that our members would generally prefer that we limit the superfluous use of AI, so I try to be mindful of that.

In this case though, we're able to get an improvement just by providing a little extra context, like the subject line and whether it's an original post or a reply. The new summary looks a lot better ("A user named philocybe responds to a thread asking to count to a million by simply listing numbers from 14 up to 4000, continuing the count in a straightforward manner. The post serves as a direct contribution to the challenge, showing the ongoing effort to reach the goal by sequentially typing out the numbers.")

The link to regenerate a summary only appears for summaries on your own posts, which is probably why you haven't noticed it. :cheers:
