Earth magnetic poll shift

Are poll shifts real

According to the internet
They happen every 200,000 300,000 years

And the last said poll shifts was 780,000 years ago

So baced on what we know about poll shifts we are either way over do for one or they may not be real....

Any other information would be helpful...

No they wouldn't be a global catastrophic event.

although it will wreak havoc on compasses and iron orientation in rocks
