Fair enough. It’s just always been one of those movies I’ve just kinda been like “huh?” about. I did enjoy Oh Brother Where Art Thou.

Robert Eggers is probably my favorite director and his movies are all pretty “manly” Especially The Lighthouse which is probably my favorite.

I really liked it. I’m a huge lover of weird fiction as well as anything nautical. Exactly my kind of movie. Funny enough the mermaid is probably my least favorite part of the movie (besides the farts lol) because with weird fiction/ cosmic horror I usually prefer for the monsters to remain off screen.

It’s been rumored for like years and years he was going to make a Mountains of Madness movie and I’ve been super super hyped for that for years but as more time goes on I do think that project might be better in someone else hands because despite being a student of Lovecraft himself, del Toro is waaayyyy too in love with his monsters to be able to do that properly adapt that story. (That said, I’d love to see what he’d come up with for a shogoth.)
