These photos are 36 hours apart. sat 11pm mon 11am.

Quick question… Is this looking good?

and two if so, how long we reckon til 100% colonised?

To my eyes, that looks fucking great. If those photos are 36 hours apart, then you've likely got 24 to 36 hours and then another week for consolidation.

That a lot of grain spawn, I'm very excited for you

My issue now is I ordered CVG thinking it would take a week to arrive but theyve already sent it out. Ahhhh might have to re-order it. oh well.

No it could be here tomorrow. Not sure. but within 1-3 days. Just worried a bit early and it might not be at its best if been around. Probably overthinking it. Pre sterilized properly made stuff.

Inflatable monotub.
under stairs is a nice small
space i can regulate temp with ceramic heater. Sits at 23-25 degrees 42% humidity

yeah I did a lot of research and watched every video i could about all of it for like 6 months before attempting. Was very clean SAB air purifier first etc So far so good but im well aware it can all go bad in a heart beat.
1. do you break up the grain in bag to check if its all colonised?
or just see all white feels like a brick and go for it?

2. laundry good for putting into monotub if
sterilise  all benches ceiling etc and purify air first
then wait 15 minutes for air to be still.
or kitchen better?

I think getting pro tools/agar/bags (costly but) and growing  B+ has helped.  god damn electric bill LOL

1: Keep track of when it reaches what looks like full colonization. Go ahead and write that timestamp on your label there and then give it a week. After that week to consolidate, shake and break for probably the last time and make sure it is in fact fully colonized.
2: I would avoid laundry rooms, bathrooms, or kitchens (any room that already has running water or high humidity, really. You're basically picking a fight with Big Green if you go that route. Per Frank's bulk spawn tek, I wouldn't worry about sterilizing a bunch of stuff if your grain is fully colonized.
Just make sure your cvg is properly pasteurized, wear some gloves, and send it.

are you saying shake and break to then put in monotub OR s&b and let it build back up into brick to see if it good?

Ill do it the stairs after a good clean.

Are PE/APE varieties harder to cultivate via liquid cultures? I've been having difficulties and am thinking I might try agar wedges and using master jars ... I don't ever do this and only use LC's for years now and it's just PE varieties that give me issues. Tnx : )

Yes. If it's fully colonized, then it goes into the tub after a round of cold water hydration, if it isn't, then wait a bit longer. Seriously though, favorite that tek and treat it like the gospel

I remember Frank Horrigan well. Though I totally disagree with him on pasteurizing coir. Totally unnecessary. If you’re concerned about contaminated coir buy high quality coir. Coir itself will not contam, rather non coir debris in the coir is what contams. Pasteurization won’t do a thing to help unless your coir comes with beneficial bacteria populations added to it after the fact.

I used to use the ultra cheap shit and kept getting trich. Even with boiling water.

Went to coco bliss and even with cold water it comes out clean. Unfortunately you get what you paid for some times

Yup! I shared my zap grow on 6 month old, cold hydrated coir a few days ago. But I'll share it again 😂 I only use coco bliss and eco earth from chewy. I'm not sure if chewy carries it anymore. It's been a while. But I would buy a case or two and about the time I'd be ready for more, they would send a coupon in the mail 😎
