its almost never too late to play competitive sports

I read about an 103 year old that played competitive badminton

A man

And a woman in her 60s that did the same

So its not too late

Serena Williams is 44

So you can play professional sports quite late

Comparative sports to a certain degree. Like ya there's a bunch of 50 year old guys that play "competitive" beer league hockey. None of them are getting drafted to the NHL though.

I use to be a professional fencer.  Your knees break early by 25. You can stay active but a younger person will come in a reck you.  I fear living to 103.

Yes there was a 101 year old woman reported in Australia to be playing competitive bowls. Very cool.

First competitive sport I did was at age 24 doing social league futsal. That's not super old but it was definitely older than most people's first time.

It was fun. I learned to stick up for myself and to not take things seriously

I agree with the general sentiment Asante

But healthy competition where two sides are respected can be healthy. It brings out the urge to improve and also can help people appreciate the success of others.

I remember debating in school. It was such a fun process because the POINT of it was to acknowledge that there is another side of the debate. The point of it was to acknowledge the other. That's what's missing in the world. Acknowledgement

Idk we had a stripe debate game in our high school debate  team . Losing with penalties leads to growth.

If you look at discussions now in for instance the Politics forum, something was lost in that wholesome Greek Forum truth-finding atmosphere that discussion is supposed to be

at 103 years old you may still be able to do a few things but you wont be 'competitive ' at anything.

* if i get to 103 i'll be happy to just make it thru the day without sharting myself

Thats a great point about that going against each other is what is killing the world

Debate is a competitive activity no one is too old for, in fact some may get better as they age.

There are no debate leagues I know of except highschool and college. I don't know of any where adults with no school affiliation can just go and compete. But they should exist.
