been having nightmares often lately...
    #1844903 - 08/24/03 05:25 AM (13 years, 3 months ago)

and they have the same theme....insects attacking me. the first dream it was like the apocalypse was about to occur, the tv news broadcasts and all my friends and family around me watching ppl get attacked by insects and then all of the sudden i get attacked by insects. then the other dreams i've had were of insects attacking me, but i don't remember it as vividly as i did my first nightmare...

it might seem petty but i wake up very irritated and kind of shocked as to why i have reoccuring insect attacking dreams...

does anyone know about dream interpretation and possibly what would these dreams mean?

cheers

I would think that being attacked often in your dreams and having a general feeling of "panic" or "lost-control" in your dreams could be a sign of waking anxiety and unease with your current situation..

"Everything OK" with you recently?

Nightmares may be a response to real life trauma and situations. These type of nightmares fall under a special category called Post-traumatic stress nightmare (PSN). Nightmares may also occur because we have ignored or refused to accept a particular life situation. Research shows that most people who have regular nightmares have had a family history of psychiatric problems, bad drug experiences, people who have contemplated suicide, and/or rocky relationships. Nightmares are an indication of a fear that needs to be acknowledged and confronted. It is a way for our subconscious to make up take notice.

dj frog: don't be silly mate i don't have chlamydia

thanks everyone for your response. it's shed a bit of light and has me thinking about my current situation. i suppose you can say that i don't feel "stable" at the moment, well, i haven't really felt stable for the past 5 years that i've been living abroad. there's a lot on my plate at the moment and i could see how it ties in to having nightmares.

one natural thing that i'm scared about is diabetes...my mom was diagnosed with diabetes not too long ago and i found out my father as well. my family's pushing me to have my blood tested to see if i possibly have it and also, i need to change my diet to avoid getting it later on in life. i've been worrying about that a lot lately, that and other problems such as possible kidney/bladder scaring. i've always been healthy but lately...it seems to be going down the drain. :frown:

i guess all i can do at the moment is cope until i find my answers...probably this will stop my nightmares :frown:
