Break and shake at 90% colonization
    #29607334 -

Hello!

My all in one bag is nearly colonized. However, when I woke up this morning and checked on it, it seems like growth has been slower in the bottom folds of the bag. I've noticed a small amount of metabolites pooling too, which could either mean bacterial contam or stressed myc (I already did a break and shake twice)

should I break and shake this bag again to get some of the substrate out of the folded corners, or just let it go and see what happens?

it smells like fresh grocery store mushrooms, doesn't smell contammy right now. but who knows

From what i can see that bag looks good to me.
These aio stuff i call dirt bags, as i don´t like the looks of them

Some metabolites aren´t always a sign of contamination.
It happens after full colonization.
And maybe what you see could be in fact
dark coloured water pearls from that dirt remnants.

What´s your plan on fruiting?
For these aio bags i´d always recommend doing this:

The pic is copied from this thread of Beef,
you just coat the brick in hydrated coir, and place it in a tub.
The big benefit is, you don´t have to break up that thing again,
as there´s often some hidden contam inside foreign vendor made spawn,
and your mycelium probably wouldn´t recover.
But as i said before, it looks good to me,
so mixing this with coir ain´t a bad idea.

wow that dino egg method looks like it would yield some good fruits!

sadly, I am moving next month and do not have the means to get an extra tub / do pasteurization of coir. I was planning on just top fruiting the bag with the hoodie tek.

I do have another AIO bag being shipped to my new address though, so I will have to do the dino egg to that next!

Thanks for the input brother, I appreciate it tons. got worried about them metabolites but I'm glad to know that happens when it's fully colonized

CO2 builds up in the bottom of bags and spawn jars which can slow and stall growth. Try laying the bag on its side or carefully place it upside down with the uncolonized portions uppermost and you'll probably find that the mycelium gets going again within 24 hours.
