Uhoh, drain problems.

I do believe my basement sink (washtub sink) is clogged with sand and tiny rocks. Why? Because that's all that's been in the sink recently.

I've tried Draino Gel (it's on it's second run right now) and that air pressure cannister thing. Having a hell of a time, drain is still clogged :/

Any suggestions on what to do? Quick fixes, not "call a plumber lol"..

well, draino usually dissolves gunk and hair and stuff like that. draino won't help with sand and rocks. you need to take off that 'goose neck' part of the pipe (the 'U' shaped part of the pipe under the sink) and empty out all the sand and whatever else. the sand and rocks sink at this point and the goose neck traps them. easy fix really..

well, it's a drain....as long as no water is flowing through it, you'll probably be okay. :wink:

but some water and nasty shit will probably come out when you take it off, so best to have a little bucket or a towel to soak up the little bit of spillage.  you'll probably need a pipe wrench too.  maybe you can borrow one?

if you look under your sink you will find a 'P-Trap', its where every hting gets caught, it's designed to keep sewer gases from coming back into the house

if you undo it you can easily empty it and the clog will be gone... saves a $180 plumber visit and takes about 5 minutes
