Anthropic code leaked * 1

I bet they regret becoming enemies of the state now, should have bent the knee

It's pretty crazy, 'accidentally' dropping a golden egg. This a significant thing, despite the mainstream news not realising, it will change our lives in unexpected ways.

What already changed our lives but many didn't realize is that the entire codebase was 'clean roomed' in 2 hours [by AI]. The clean room tactic is of course not new but in the AI era it shows how quick even a high level tech company with extreme awareness of the stakes can go from secure to wide open with no time to react meaningfully.

What I see is a story of modern cyber security. How will closed source be sustained? How will anything stay classified? Etc. etc.

Gone are the days of a small scale leak. It's not like there's time to go prevent it's spread or implement any sort of containment.

Pretty good prediction Kickle, with the recent Mythos news. It found thousands of day zero exploits in modern software. I still don't really understand the full implications, but it's a little concerning when government officials start holding emergency meetings with major banks. Is online anonymity in spaces like here under threat?

Possibly.

One speculation I've heard is that mythos is super-human good at chaining exploits and getting into systems, but no one has said it is super-human good or even just good at patching/fixing.

If it can break the Internet but not fix it, well, it will take individuals a long time to figure out how to fix all these flaws across all the varied systems across the web. And AI progress doesn't exactly wait while this happens.
