Kratom tree

Here is one of my kratom plants. As you can see, it's gown into a little tree. I have another one which is smaller but growing fast. Kratom leaves are used as a narcotic by some people. The photo isn't that great but it gives you an idea.

I'm assuming a cutting. Beautiful plant, have you tested it yet? Or made an extract? I'd be very interested in an extract.

It's a clone of the rifat strain like most of them in this country. I haven't tried it yet. I'm ashamed to say that I've gotten chicken in my old age and haven't tried a bunch of things I have. I've got damiana tea I ordered months ago, I have kava kava and other things I never tried. Oh well, cluck cluck cluck. Maybe later I'll try it. I do have a bag of leaves sitting around. I also have another plant. I think they prefer mostly shade.

I personally got to taste some kratom not too long ago and really enjoyed it... you should give it a go!

That looks good I'd like to grow one of those sometime. Haven't found anywhere to get a plant or cutting though.

Saw a Kratom sapling go for 60 bucks on Ebay recently. Worth it to me if I had the dough.

I can take cuttings but they are hard to root. I hate to swap for a bunch of goodies and then the cutting dies and the other person has nothing. I've only had one success so far and it took months. I don't know that they are really worth what they are going for unless you like the buzz.

Indeed, but once a Kratom tree gets big it will produce more than enough for personal use. I have Fibromyalgia setting in and in about 10 years it would be nice to pluck a few leaves off a tree instead of popping a routine of painkillers.
Have you tried a liquid rooting hormone like Hormex? Is the new growth hardy stemmed or still green and flexible?
I'll be ordering one from basementshaman probably if I can't find a better source, any recommendations?

yeah, more recommendations would be nice. I think I'll want one soon. Kratom has been an excellent analgesic in my experience.

I have a couple cuttings I'm trying to root right now. I use rooting powder and put them into damp soil. I had a few others that rooted but I messed it up with clumsey handling. One I knocked on the floor and broke off it's one good leaf and another I let dry out. One I actually pulled up because it had been so long with no growth and then I saw it had roots. Oooops!
I could swap cuttings for those who think they are better at rooting them but no guarantee on success. When I get some rooted cuttings I may offer them. The one I did manage to root is growing like mad. It's growing faster than the parent.

Cool, you should look into Hormex or some other liquid formula containing B1. I've had very low success rates on any plant I've tried rooting using the powders, but with liquids I usually get 95-100% success. Good luck

I'm quite sure it's kratom. The pic isn't very good. I'll try to take a better one today if it stops raining. There are lots of plants that look like kratom. I've seen ones I had to look twice at and then again.

Yeah, deff looks like Kratom to me. You should try it sometime though. Just chew on some leaves or make a tea. I bet it's a lot more potent when it's fresh off the tree

Ahh what the ...This isn't related to the tree, but I just found a few little pieces of hard plastic in my previously unopened bag of kratom I bought from one of the shroomery sponsers

Here is a pic of my smaller kratom in a 3 gallon pot. I had to uproot it to move it for the pic so it might be ready for a repot.
