I confess I'm really tired of the forums.

I'm tired of spending hours arguing with reddit morons just to try and get them to stop shooting themselves in the dick.  I'm tired of trying to counter blatant misinformation.  I'm tired of how much of it is just repeating the same shit over and over just to have people flip out that I don't agree with what they think is a novel breakthrough when we see it happen week after week.

I'm just tired of the shroomery and I don't think I'm goin to be around here much anymore.

I'll drop in from time to time, but I have other things to do with my life now.

Best of luck y'all.

It's sad that it came to this - I'm thinking maybe the mods aren't generous enough with the banhammer? Maybe a good old 3 day ban could set a noob straight.

It doesn't work because then you end up with a doctor smoke scenario where somebody has an issue with authority and goes on a fucking tyrade.

As a noob myself, I'll miss piggy. He answered questions when no one else did, dispensed wisdom freely and while sometimes grumpy, never cruel or fake. That's what I call a cool dude.

I go on long walks through the woods but I leave my phone behind. I need to start bringing a camera perhaps but man, there are very beautiful woods out there. Areas with lots of dead trees are the best parts of the forest.

My life would instantly improve if I cut the cord on my phone. I really want to move to bfe and have a little land and a little house with a big garden and a big heart. My wife would like that as well. But we are torn on my daughter not getting exposure to other kids.

Make it easy at first. Go shopping without a phone. Walks without phone. No phone when the child is around... little things.

Piggy ventures into the Arctic tundra that is the mushroom cultivation forum. Where people will pose crazy crazy things… Stupid really dumb questions. Then they will get incredibly combative with you when you disagree.

I hope you come back soon.

For what It's worth, for every argumentative idiot you encounter, there are surely dozens or even hundreds of people - both posters and passive lurkers - learning from your posts. Just because you didn't convince someone who turned off their critical thinking circuits (or never developed them in the first place) doesn't mean you haven't saved a bunch of other people a lot of time and/or money going down a path that will not give them consistent results.

But you can pry my Chinese FFU from my cold, dead hands.

Anyone else feel as though their call to life, to symbiosis with the planet, is constantly under attack by society's wants and needs?

What i intuitively do to find wholeness has almost nothing to do with my job or anything related. Only the skills come in handy. It's just... how to reset humanity without committing genocide. Sorry for the darkness, folks!

Yeah, that's pretty much life in a nutshell. What you want is rarely something that will allow you to exist in society.

I've been plotting my escape - got some land in the mountains, just need enough $ to build a house there and semi-retire. I'll probably have to find a source of income once I'm there, but you can bet your ass it won't be an IT job.
