Why is organic milk so damn good?

LOL i'm picturing someone kneeling under a goat, with a goat tittie in their mouth. The looking at me, smiling with a milk mustache and going ummm ummmm good stuff.. got milk?

ok it means that cows are not given synthetic growth hormones which means cows produce more of a fatty acid called CLA which aids in the fight against cancers. It also means my doughter if I had one wouldnt pop out double D boobies by the age of 12.
They don't produce as much milk as confined cows, But it has a richer color, a richer flavor and an improved vitamin content.

I feel that grass fed cows produce much richer vibrant milk that isnt as "blue/grey" as confined feed fed cows.

To me it just tastes better.

I can't buy normal milk since I've tried organic...worth every extra penny.

I know exactly what you speak of.

Back in europe (early 90's), we started complaining how milk was starting to get too 'watered down'....then we moved to canada.

You guys drink water here, not milk.

Either way, i cant drink milk, so i dont have much to complain about.

Organic milk rocks.  I can't stand the taste of plain milk but I drink organic kefir which is SOOOOOOOO yummy!  And I love organic ice cream too. :smile:

write the FDA about this one ans ask about how these substance 'dont' trickle down into our own systems, we notice the changes but aparently covernment doesnt care. I dont like someone saying what I can and cannot eat

Mathis and Mayfield dairies were sued for refusing to pump these hormones into their cattle, there is a little information on the net about it but not a great deal.

unpastuerized milk also has that wonderful falvor, most dairys dont keep their cows chained to machines all day, they are generaly milked in the evenings and the mornings and the proscess takes about an hour, the rest of the time they are usualy in a pasture.

Parmalat... stay away from it, Mathis and mayfield are both a good quality milk, they are pastuerised which kills off some beneficial bacteria as well as a little of the flavor but they arent treated wiht hormones, they usualy will keep a week past their expiration date as opposed to parmalat which generaly goes bad before the expiration date.

Stinging nettle is probably the secret to this, the best milk I have ever had was a grain/pasture fed cow that also had stinging nettle in the diet, most organics cattle ranchers know this and plant it in their pastures just as they do grains... my wife wants a milking cow for the reasons I've given above, I'll be planting the same way I described

now. why is organic milk $5-$7 a gallon if they arent spending as much to buy hormones and they arent spending anything on feed? starting to see the start of the Organic scam...

$5-$7??? I buy it for about $3.29 for my son. He loves the stuff! I wouldn't buy anything else. It costs more to be an organic farmer....they have a smaller income, and no government subsidies from what I know (which, granted, isn't much!). What is the organic scam you are talking about? I eat 99% organic and am interested in this!

hey priz...do you know what the effects of those hormones on humans through milk is?

i'm wondering about that, because i love milk and have been drinking whole milk for just about ever.

I drink organic soy milk. Regular milk doesn't agree with me. Stange cus I drank skim milk the first 20yrs of my life and just assumed having gas all the time was normal.
