Interesting... though I agree, not surprising. This is a move I may not agree with the DOJ on, but it's hard to have an opinion when I don't know how accurate the data from the report is. It was written just as Biden was heading out the door, after all.

I studied cognitive dissonance in depth back in late 2007 when I needed an explanation for what it was my own mind was going through as I was waking up from Mormonism's spell it had cast on me.

Your response to Trump’s fumbling around Epstein is a pretty good example. Your belief that 'Trump is a righteous leader seeking to take back our government from pedophiles and murderers' clashed with Trump’s recent pivot towards 'Let's forget about Epstein'. In order to reconcile that contradiction, you've modified another belief of yours - 'get ready for Trump to release the Epstein files' - into 'Trump must have a very good reason to pretend like he doesn't want to release the files'

Adopting new beliefs in order to explain away a conflict between your beliefs and the environment? Classic cognitive dissonance, as I understand it.

I've not changed my position at all. I fully expect everything to be released. My first reaction to Trump's words in that press gaggle next to Pam Bondi had me laughing my ass off, not racking my brain in a WTF manner.

I know exactly what he's doing, which is making sure the democrats don't let this go. They didn't even CARE for the 4 years Biden was in office. Trump has done nothing but *guarantee* the political left won't let go of this now. About damn time, in my opinion.
