I think more people need to experiment with the mescaline-tryptamine combo

Peyote only a couple times, but San Pedro many times. The doses aren't the same as when taken separately, but it's not uncommon to mix them.

The ceremonies I've been a part of that have included both are generally structured with drinking the first round of San Pedro, waiting 1-2 hours, drinking another round of San Pedro, waiting another 1-2 hours, and then another round of San Pedro and/or a round of Ayahuasca. The two together are a beautiful synergy. (2024-04-29, private message)

This special concoction from Guillermo Arévalo is only intended for really experienced ayahuasca drinkers, and certainly not for beginners! It may well be the most potent pharmaceutical discovery of the ayahuasqueros to date.

Caution may be needed for the usage of ayahuasca, as cacti are somewhat noradrenergic and that mechanism is somewhat contraindicated with MAOIs.*


What's interesting about this combo is that it attempts to "recreate" the LSD molecule, i.e., LSD is basically both a tryptamine and a phenethylamine. No LSD connection? Not a problem…

I really like cactus along with morning glory seeds, which help deepen and also add an element of tranquility to the cactus, as well as more immersive inner visions.

Combining psychedelics is dangerous territory to begin with, which I really wouldn't recommend except maybe to very experienced users. Combining it with an MAOI is extremely risky.

Mescaline is a very cool psychedelic, but it has well known problems with consuming it, vomiting and duration. I wish I had tried it when I was younger, but at my age now, these things make me have no interest in it.

If you want LSD, just do LSD, no reason to try to combine a bunch of drugs in a failed attempt to mimic it when you could just do the real thing.

I’ve never vomited on mescaline… never heard of anyone vomiting on it.

If combining psychedelics you just have to adjust your doses. Don’t take a full dose of either your first time maybe.

I also like mescaline in combo with LSA. It’s really nice, has more of an empathogenic feeling to it. Very chill compared to mescaline alone. But when I did it I took small doses of both.

You’ve gotta be smart with taking drugs. Very important. I’ve learned the hard way.

My experience exactly! Really took the edge off the mescaline, letting me go deeper into a peaceful trance state.

Yeah, 100%.

Never done mescaline with mushrooms though I don’t think… not in any significant dose anyway. Could be interesting.

Do you have any evidence to back that up? A board-certified psychiatric pharmacist published a guide that suggests that psychedelics may cause serotonin syndrome when admixed with MAOIs. I relayed this to r/MAOIs and five people said he was was wrong, one of them referencing one's experimentation with LSD and another referencing his experimentation with "everything under the sun".

This says psilocybin, mescaline, and LSD may cause serotonin syndrome when used with MAOIs

Yeah, mescaline and a reversible MAOI is no where near as risky as powerful stimulants like cocaine and amphetamines.

I’ve done it, both in small doses of course, and it was nice and showed no negative effects. Although I would be very hesitant to combine them in common and high dosage ranges. Or if you had some kind of condition which would make it dangerous. It shares some effects in common with amphetamine, being a mild TAAR1 agonist, but nowhere near the degree amphetamine is.

I don’t understand why Nooneman thinks mescaline is dangerous. It’s really not… careful what you combine it with, but it’s not a dangerous drug.

It does show higher toxicity than LSD and psilocybin, mainly because of the much larger dose of it required I think and the lower potency. But it’s still not anywhere near as toxic as something like alcohol or paracetamol or ibuprofen. So I don’t see any justification for that stance.

Mescaline and LSD is fucking great. Would definitely do again… and again… and again… haha

Still only like half way through the acid, the first cactus dose started wearing off a while ago, so I ate another 5 inches worth of cactus and my head is thoroughly cooked now, but it’s good.

Was kinda thinking about eating more acid… is it worth doubling the dose now? Hmmm haha
