anyone ever have red worms in there compost?
    #12828087 -

I made some compost. I took a half a bail of shredded straw, a equal volume of horse manure, some blood meal, a couple shovels of chicken manure, and water. I let this compost in this tumbler i have and I checked it today and there is about two dozen red worms in it per double handful of compost.

If i pasteurize this my sub is going to be full of dead worm bodies. I think ill have to feed this to my garden and pasteurize the manure before i compost it next time.

Those red worms are fairly common in compost. I don't know how much they'd affect a grow but here's some suggestions for removing them:

Water the compost with a watering can, the worms will come to the surface & you can pick them out.

Leave the compost out for the birds to pick over it for a while.

Put it through a garden sieve  pick out the worms.
