Doom 3

I haven't stayed up to date on the development of this game so I thought someone here would probably know...
I was searching on eMule for Doom 3 to download and I found both a beta version and supposedly the full version also. Now I'm wondering, is that full version the real thing? I heard that ever since the alpha was leaked, way back when, that the developer was keeping the game tightly under wraps. So should I bother downloading the beta or full versions? Are they real or fake?
And yeah I know the game comes out in 2 weeks but I can't wait that long.

The "full version" you found is most likely just the beta with a different name
Just wait till the 2nd!!!

http://firingsquad.com/news/newsarticle.asp?searchid=6809 ? A 1.5-gigahertz Intel Pentium 4 chip or AMD Athlon 1500.
Yup.
? 384 megabytes of memory.
Nope.
? Two gigabytes of hard drive space.
Who doesnt.
? An nVidia GeForce 3 graphics card or better; or an ATI Technologies 8500 or better.
Barely.

Well... I'm downloading the beta right now. But I don't know if my machine is gonna be fast enough. Only 1 gHz athlon. Have plenty of memory and a good video card though so we'll see.

I was considering getting a 6800GT for the new games... but that would mean more time gaming and less time studying so I didn't get the 6800GT. Plus $400.

gotta love this game. Gonna be rocking and its supposed to have linux support outta the box. HELL FUCKING YEAH. but I don't have cash for more pc parts right now so looks like I'm going to be stuck watching friends buy it.
Anyone for counter strike? I will buy a new pc when that hits the market, if its as good as it sounds like it could be.

The only thing you guys could possibly be downloading is the leaked alpha, and that's hardly a product at all. I wouldn't expect much. Just hold your guts till August 3rd.

That's just like my system but i've overclocked the bus to 200Mhz and my Radeon 9800 Pro is really a softmoded 9800 SE Only 512Mb Ram here . I know 1Gb makes some difference in certain games .... MAIA

The main difference ive noticed with FPS and having lots of ram the levels load faster. I went from 256 to 784 and unreal levels went from about a 2 min load time to 20 seconds. *edit* geforce "4" mx sucks they are a souped up geforce 2 with more memory.

Generally an increase in speed like that would only be due to creating a partion in the memory and installing Unreal into that. Solid state memmory blows regular hard drives out of the water.
