I just watched a movie from 2017 called The Void. it was really good if you're into lovecraftian horrors, cult horror, body horror, hellraiser type shit. I was pleasantly surprised.

The red violin [Re: Sulfurshelfsean]
    #28602108 -

This is a journey of chapters. We get to see this flawless instrument travel through time. The many lives that it’s touched with the music that it can make. All of these peoples ancestors are now in an auction room. Attempting to purchase this legendary instrument.
You will choose one of these people to be the most deserving in your mind. But who will actually possess the legendary red violin?
This makes you feel like a grain of sand in an hourglass. Even if the time that we have here is fleeting. The music that we can leave behind, lasts forever.

Amadeus [Re: GenesisCorrupted]
    #28602114 -

This movie is based off of a play. Which played with the concept that Antonio Salieri did so intentionally sabotage Wolfgang Amadeus’s life. Leading to his death. Immortalizing Amadeus into the annals of history.

To see the struggle that this man had to go through. To see somebody struggle with adoration and loathing for the same man. It is an epicurean struggle. To love something so much that it would make you hate God. To want nothing but the worst for someone while secretly attending every performance they’ve ever made.
There’s something so beautiful and tragic about it.
This is one of my favorite films.
You get to see the personality of Wolfgang. A cheeky monkey.

But you also get to see the genius. The absolute brilliance of this man and the way his mind worked was truly an inspiration to so many.
The struggle he had in his personal life, improving his worth and value to his father. Is something I think every son can relate to an extent.
In a very real sense. The constant desire to prove himself to his father, is the reason we have so much incredible music of his to listen to.

Rubber [Re: GenesisCorrupted] * 2

This movie is about a tire of inexplicable nature and quality.
There’s a group of people observing this tire.
They are all here for no reason.

What they witness is truly marvelous, breathtaking, and indeed, incredible.
You would just have to see it for yourself.
Five out of five

It's basically the Citizen Kane of films about Sentient Tires.

I liked it too.

Vampire’s Kiss [Re: GenesisCorrupted]
    #28653533 -

“ALVAAAAAAAAAA!”
This man is clearly mentally ill. At the start of the movie they aren’t even trying to hide it. He’s clearly going to see a psychiatrist. He has a lot to work through. He seems to have a fascination with his image. So he finds the idea of immortality imparted through vampirism incredibly appealing. He begins having delusions about a girlfriend that does not exist. Who is a vampire.
He breaks up with his imaginary girlfriend, and then just immediately begins spiraling.
The spiraling continues pretty much on a steady decline until an assault. Which leads to the climax.
A collective sigh of relief from the audience as the ending leaves no question that the story is over.
It’s like they didn’t even give a script. They just told Nicolas Cage to be as spastic as possible on camera.

He completely delivers on this. Performing the most bizarre character you will ever see him act.
Truly a spectacle.

This movie was a blast.
With its own set of rules and magic. Vampires are attacking the town. Seeing the pandemonium an alluring ghost has also staked her claim in one of the young vampire hunters.
This movie manages to be funny With quite a bit of physical comedy.
The physical stuff is very impressive. You can tell that people are really doing these backflips and wall jumps.
People get thrown around and it looks very real, because it is.

You even find yourself getting scared because you’ve grown fond of the characters over the course of the story. Even ones you didn’t think you would like. Such as the hapless police captain.

From start to finish, I had a lot of fun. I would give this a five out of five.

Is it dated? Of course it is. But it doesn’t affect what the movie was in anyway it just gives it a hint of nostalgia.

It's about a kid Brian deneke who was killed by another kid and was charged with his murder later reduced to manslaughter and only got probation.  They put on trial the kind of clothes he wore and things that were written on his clothing.
