My house right now...

But I still keep things real...

SOL has pretty much cleared all resistance, with the exception of its prior all time high.  I think SOL moving above its prior highs is all but a foregone conclusion at this point, and am loosely targeting $400-$800 SOL.  In the meanwhile, 1/3 of my position is exposed on Kamino.Finance’s Multiply vaults.  Native delegated staking is the safest way to generate SOL yield.  But if you want to take on the added 1) smart contract risk and 2) third-party/DeFi custody risk, I suggest using Kamino's JUPSOL Multiply product.  I've been averaging a solid 15%+ aggregate yield with it:  https://app.kamino.finance/lending/multiply

I had previously used JITOSOL Multiply, but JUPSOL benefits from the Jupiter foundation forwarding all MEV, 50% of priority fees from their platform, as well as having delegated an additional 100K SOL and distributing 100% of that stake yield to JUPSOL holders, resulting in an LST (i.e. liquid staking token) yield close to 10%.  Using the Multiply product, the net yield has surpassed 20% for periods of time.

You ought to keep a loose eye on the debt markets to make sure the SOL borrow costs don't eclipse the LST yield APY for prolonged periods of time.  So far, that has never happened.  Further, the product is designed to ignore liquidity based fluctuations in the LST price, which vastly reduces liquidation risk.  Additionally, Kamino has a "soft liquidation" mechanism that, once excessive Loan-to-Value ratios are hit, incrementally liquidates leverage in 20% increments until the rates fall back into acceptable ranges.  They even have a system wide risk dashboard that anyone can view: https://risk.kamino.finance/

Lastly, by participating on Kamino, you generate "season points", which qualify you for their KMNO governance token airdrop.  Because staking the KMNO token on the platform increases your points generation over time, this creates a supply restriction dynamic that acts as a tailwind for KMNO market price.  It's been a virtuous cycle, and the most profitable rewards system I've ever been a part of.

I will eventually use SOL as my primary vehicle to skim profits along the march higher.  I don’t anticipate wanting to sell much BTC, given the wild success of the ETF launch, and probable continuation to its increasing status as a global reserve asset utilized by an increasing number of large investors (i.e. pensions and sovereign governments).

I almost staked some of my SOL on Kamino over the weekend but quite honestly was still trying to wrap my head around it... when I was attempting to use the multiplier thing it kept saying there wasnt enough volume available or something. Will try again as 18% return sounds magnificent on an asset on the rise like this one - my current yield is 5% or so, which is still nice given recent circumstances.

Crypto baby is killing it!! I also have kept IBIT, MSTR, and CORZ in various trades through the week/weekend. Maybe will post that in stocks though.

Hey Mick, there are some things to be aware of when using Multiply.  Because it is a debt loop position, the Kamino platform needs to have enough of the designated debt token (in this case SOL) to finance the leverage you are requesting in Multiply.  Because Multiply has been so successful, this debt liquidity gets eaten up SUPER fast anytime it becomes available.  It becomes available when Kamino participants add SOL to SOL Main Market Reserve, or when folks close down SOL borrow positions (which include Multiply positions).

In a nutshell, this is the Multiply product you should use (in my opinion, as it has offered the highest, stable, positive yields that directly correlate with the value of the SOL network token): JUPSOL Multiply.

To check whether or not you're going to be able to initiate a new position in Multiply, you can view the debt market, which indicates under "Liquidity Available" how much room there is to, for example, add new Multiply positions: Main Market SOL Reserve.

I'm just going to copy and paste some comments I made to another group this morning, regarding SOL staking...

Quote:
Native delegated staking is the safest way to do it.  If you want to take on the added 1) smart contract risk and 2) third-party/DeFi custody risk, I suggest using Kamino's JUPSOL Multiply product.  As noted above, I've been averaging ~16% aggregate yield here.  https://app.kamino.finance/lending/multiply

I had previously used JITOSOL Multiply, but JUPSOL benefits from the Jupiter foundation forwarding all MEV, 50% of priority fees from their platform, as well as having delegated an additional 100K SOL and distributing 100% of that stake yield to JUPSOL holders, resulting in an LST yield close to 10%.  Using the Multiply product, the net yield has surpassed 20% for periods of time.

You ought to keep a loose eye on the debt markets to make sure the SOL borrow costs don't eclipse the LST yield APY for prolonged periods of time.  So far, that has never happened.  Further, the product is designed to ignore liquidity based fluctuations in the LST price, which vastly reduces liquidation concerns.  Additionally, Kamino has a "soft liquidation" mechanism that, once excessive Loan-to-Value ratios are hit, incrementally liquidates leverage in 20% increments until the rates fall back into acceptable metrics.

As an aside, JITOSOL borrow rates on the platform have not been beneficial for Multiply over the past 24 hours, often resulting in lower net yield over the LST's native yield.  It's not a problem yet, as net yield remains positive, but it does indicate the potential problems with leveraging debt markets to increase net yield.  JUPSOL hasn't suffered this fate, largely on account of less debt market demand for the token in conjunction with its higher native yield.

I prefer to self-direct my investments.  Particularly with regard to the VanEck offering above, miners have an uphill battle with respect to declining block rewards, high capital expenses and extreme competition.  I just don't see a lot of value in paying a money manager a 0.65% commission to invest my money in a basket of instruments, when a portion of that basket is in my view destined to underperform assets that are more purely correlated with the sector (i.e. the underlying crypto tokens themselves and/or leveraged plays such as MSTR).

Ethereum is a proof of stake network now, so there is no mining complex servicing that particular blockchain, only validators, which is not nearly as competitive of a landscape as the bitcoin mining complex.

The simplest way to review how heated competition is amongst bitcoin miners, is to review the aggregate network hashrate.  Recall that the designer(s) of bitcoin implemented a self-adjusting mechanism that changes the mathematical difficulty required to solve a block puzzle, based on how many miners are participating.  This is done so that a single miner cannot so easily monopolize the network and in turn implement a 51% attack.  As we can see, the hashrate is higher than it has ever been, indicating a ridiculous amount of miners and compute power dedicated to solving blocks.

You can check out the individual publicly traded miners to see how they've been performing... MARA, RIOT, CLSK, HUT, CORZ.  CORZ is the only one I would be interested in, but I closed out my position there for something like +200% last Thursday.  I believe CORZ is leading the sector, not because they're so great at bitcoin mining, but because they are actively pivoting to diversify their exposure toward the AI sector.  I will look to re-enter, but I needed to take some profits on this massive run we've had, post US election, and CORZ was the low hanging fruit (i.e. my lowest conviction active trade in the sector that happened to be highly profitable in the moment).

AI compute companies are incredibly thirsty for well-connected rack space, the type of infrastructure that takes months and huge capital commitments to develop between securing high power utility feeds, industrially cooled warehouse space and reliable fiber optic internet connections.  CORZ figured out that their mining warehouses are suited to serve the AI power house needs, and are leasing space to these companies as part of their business.  Given that this type of AI infrastructure tends to be valued at an order of magnitude higher than BTC mining infrastructure with regard to megawatt capacity, it's easy to see why they are opting to pivot.

Michael Saylor, CEO of Microstrategy (MSTR) made a poignant remark earlier this morning that reflects on the bitcoin miner's plight, and why investing directly in crypto, or utilizing MSTR as a leveraged vehicle to do, makes more sense.

Is it unreasonable to ask that one of you smart folks turns $5k in to $5 mil for me without me doing any work?

I really wish I had the trust in myself to go deep on crypto without making rash decisions.

So far my $500 invested a couple of years ago has turned in to $1500 requiring me to click a few buttons maybe twice in that time. But I know there is so much more potential!

Tripling your money in 3 years is an average gain of 100% a year  roughly depending how many years you are speaking..
Those are great numbers for investing and basically only seen in crypto or if I've you've sold a house the past few years that you bought long ago for way back when..

Just put more money into it if you have it bro. Clearly with minimal input you've done swimmingly so just do that plus more funds

Investing has potential, but it's not easy.  If it were, everyone would be filthy rich.  I've been at this for over twenty years now, and it's worked well for me in aggregate, but throughout the learning experience, I've suffered tremendous losses, nearly blowing up my accounts on more than one occasion.  It was through the process of understanding and learning from my mistakes, in conjunction with balanced restraint, perseverance and patience, that this has ultimately worked out in my favor.

Having yourself achieved a 300% return over three years is nothing short of remarkable, and not something that should be expected as a reliable return going forward.  Obviously it is possible, just as it's possible to win the lottery.  But don't let overconfidence or unrealistic expectations, recklessly push you too far out on the risk curve unless you know and accept that you would be, in effect, playing a game of increasingly pure chance and in turn, willing to lose the bulk of your capital.

There are many ways to make money in the market, but ultimately it comes down to your own risk tolerance in conjunction with how much active effort you want to put in.  The closest thing to a "one size fits all" strategy is to buy a low fee diversified index, such as the SPY or the VTSAX.  That'll net you, over time, perhaps something like 8% a year.  It'll keep pace with currency devaluation and general inflation, and over a lifetime in a tax sheltered account, you can do pretty well.

If you want more than that, it's going to take time and dedication to figure out what kind of trading strategy will work for you.  Feel free to float your ideas here or in our STOCKS thread, I'm always happy to provide feedback and help educate others where I can.
