Question For other Artists, Trying to figure out what I want

I'm really trying to figure out how I can apply my creative drive into something of a career, or sustainable lifestyle and have been doing a little research on Graphic Artists, and other things like that.

I keep looking online at all kinds of stuff, but do you think it would work alot better if I just did an informational interview with a GD here in town, maybe seeing what it is he or she does?

I just dont think while being in front of a monitor really allows any information to sink in because Im still very undecided about where I could maybe go with my creative drive, and applying it in a sustainable occupation.

Also, do you think some firm would let me go for a tour arround thier jobsite and let me hang out a bit just to see what they do, and see if it actualy clicks with me in any way?
Im not a student, and I dont have any endorsments or credentials, I just want to investigate a little more hands-on-ish...

Graphic arts can be really fun...if you can find/sustain a job! :smirk: When it comes to touring studios and sitting in, I don't see why not. My design school always told us not to be afraid to just call up art directors and ask them to look at our work or ask to job shadow. Doesn't mean everyone will necessarily do it, but you never know.

do you like video games? If so, you can become a 3d artist and work on games for a career (like me)

well, it's not that easy.... but... yah
