I can't do Humble Pie , man. The guy in the dorm room next to me played Thirty Days in the Hole every twenty minutes for the entire year. I'm OK, but I'm not well. I saw Tull in I think '72 or '73, Thick as a Brick tour. Broke in and was almost crushed in the crowd.

Favorite Lou Reed is Rock and Roll Animal

Also, don't forget his fellow traveler John Cale. He did three albums for Island in the early seventies that were excellent
Helen of Troy, Slow Dazzle, and Fear

And don't forget Cale's fellow traveler Brian Eno's Taking Tiger Mountain (By Straegy), Another Green World, Before and After Science.

And don't forget Roxy Music, just about anything.

I thought these might fill in a bit of what I thought was a gap in the codger lexicon. It was good to hear some of the old names. Except Humble Pie.

The Who - Tommy

Jethro Tull is a great band.  Anyone ever see them in concert?  Ive heard the flutest singer is a little fruity during concerts?

I saw them on acid- Ian Anderson in turn was Pan and Satan! They are awesome but were way better in the 60's and 70's than when I saw them in the early 90's.

All of Defs early stuff is good...damn Odin we like a lot of the same music....How about Deep Purple.. "Made in Japan" and "Machine Head"
I saw Deep Purple at the Astrodome back in `74 i think and my ears rang for 3 days after that show...People were falling off the towers
People ran out on the main floor and the Pigs were going ape shit and hitting people with their nightsticks...The pigs got the fuck beat outta them because there wasnt enough of the basturds to do any kind of crowd control...it was fuckkin great
That same year the pigs busted Milby Park where Trapeze was playing {Glenn Hughes Band} ...they had police from all the towns around Houston...Freaks were running everywhere and i made it to the freeway and stuck a thumb out...this van screeched to a stop and they rescued me...I was really lucky to get outta there without my head getting smacked by some beefcake assholistic pig...those fuckkers were mean back then and hated longhairs with a purple passion...good times great times :smirk:

Aqualung is a must.
and also...

Yes Yes Yes :-)

A plethora of music aspirations control my temptations of future revelations beyond "now". The percussion, and the heart beat of my love and devotion. The rhythm goes beyond, prying into the third eye, releasing the creativity held so far inside. The melodicies, through the out of tune pianos and broken classical guitars...there lies a beauty. A beauty as prevelent as the fire inside. To release these energies is pure ecstacy, to deveop these gifts is sacred. The vocality, so pure as can be, shying away from herself, lies within me. For the underlying serenitity, this is what I live for. I plea for harmony, and nothing more. Music equals love. Creation of love leads to the procreativity of the World, and it's spirals and puddles prevailing.
