does anyone think it would be a bad idea to grow mushroom habitat for my salamander yolanda? the environmental specs are the same.

do you think cubes could hurt yolanda?
if so, whats something else i could grow in coir for her to chill in and preside over?

tell me u dont wanna see yolanda chillin out max in a mushroom forrest of her very own.

It's basically mimicking the animals environment in a tank as close to nature as you can. With springtails and isopods to help break down and cycle waste, and I've seen people purposefully seed them with mushrooms before

This is one I did a few years ago for baby crested geckos. If your salamander doesn't usually try to eat her substrate or other stuff in her tank, I wouldn't worry about her going for mushrooms

Vivariums have come a long way since I was a lil kid trying to make them with exactly no budget.  I've recently got back into researching them and will make the leap after I move.  Thinking dart frogs and nepenthes.

Subtrops I have experience with. They’re about 4x the potency of cubes and I’d say the trip is a little sharper if that makes any sense and all. It’s got more edge to it. Like sour candy.

I find salamanders and newts and other amphibians dwelling in and around many different types of mushrooms in nature.

I'd worry about its inhalation of spores in a closed area, increased exposure to bacteria, and insects. Most bred in captivity pets don't have the same immune system as wild animals. Same reason I wouldn't live capture food outdoors and feed it to my snakes indoors.

Aight. Wasn't sure or not. The caps were kinda dark and they didn't really move much compared to my other tub.

I don't really care much about them anyways. I'll give them a bit and see if they grow more
