I wasn't saying he is innocent. I was just saying that a person doesn't have to do anything shady to have the justice system turn on them. That is true.

I think it is generally a two tiered justice system for those with lots of money and those without, and that this verdict might be able to set a precedent to help even the playing field a little.

But yeah there's plenty of cases of white collar crime around.

Trust me...

This will do no such thing. If anything, Trump's sentence will only serve to bolster the notion that we have a 2-tiered justice system.

Yes if there’s anything we know about the American justice system is that rich and powerful people can’t get a fair shake in a court of law

There is no way to avoid it.

What would be the solution? Have the state upgrade public defenders to an elite legal eagle squad for each swinging dick that catches a charge? Would the state be willing to shell out the $$$ for said legal defense....while trying to prosecute from the other side?

Feel like Biden publicly pardoning trump a day after sentencing might play well. Even if it's state charges, just announcing a pardon anyway. Not like people really pay attention to the details.

Yet in charging and convicting trump we are in this case avoiding disparity of justice among the socio-economic classes.

Lol, no you aren't. You think one conviction means no disparity exists? That's delusional.

The president can't pardon state charges, only the governor of New York could do that.

He can pardon him for the federal stuff, but saying he's doing it for state stuff just makes him look more demented

Not in the least. In this case, there is one defendant of one socioeconomic class.  Disparity isn't even applicable in one case.

This one did a little bit better at sounding smart, but his audience seems dumber than average even for Trumpsters.

He spent the first minute or so of the live stream asking live chat if they could see and hear him.

People in the comments are responding saying that they can see him and hear him.

That is not what I was saying. I was saying that Trump getting probation for 34 felony charges will be an example of our two tiered justice system, not the exception to that rule.

I could see that going two ways. It could handicap Trump, but also piss off Biden's base...

Sounds like you're held up on the sentencing, which is fair enough

Well... if this isn't political, and it's not about serving real justice.. then wtf is it about?

We'll see what happens, though. I don't see Trump doing any real time.

Even if he got jail time, they'd have to let him out to run the country when he wins the election.
