Thanks, I thought about doing that... However I live with roommates so I cant really mess too much with anything that would cost us all a bunch of money :(

We live in San Diego and right now only powering lights and such (computers, stereo, TV, and what not) we pay $130 a month for power :(

So i was looking for something a bit more localized in or around the chamber :)

But thanks for the speedy reply! and anything else is greatly appreciated

wow 130 dollars mine is like 200 per month. anyway you can try using a wool blanket wrapped around the sides. this will trap some heat in...but you will need to keep an eye on the temp and make sure it don't get too high.

Ah ok, great thanks... ill give that a shot and get back with you all :)

However Ive got the chamber under two cotton beach towels right now and it just doesnt seem to be doing the trick... Think the blanket will do this better? And about letting light in... Should i just unwrap it for a couple hours a day? (would that be enough light?)

put the tank on the blanket then wrap it up to the top. light will get in through the top. just leave it on there for awhile and watch your temp. if it gets like up in the 85 degree mark then you can adjust accordingly like so many hours aday etc. the only bad thing about heating tanks is moisture loss so keep an eye on that as well. you can lightly mist the sides from time to time if the sides start to dry up.

You can also try and place some fish tank type bulbs over the top. They actually make specific bulbs to generate heat. Go to your local pet shop and ask them what the best solution would be.
