Do you feel like we are about to actually enter a recession. * 1

A real recession. Not a mild slowdown soft landing what ever. One that is at least 1/4th as bad as 2008 kind if recession. I feel something over the next 6 months or so is gonna tip the scales. I've been analyzing mortgage data and home owner serveys and shit looks bad. It's like the banks found a new way to make the same mistakes that cause 2008 but with a different flavor and metric.
Will we enter a significant recession in 6 months or less?

So we're just supposed to guess yes or no?

I'm gonna say no, banks don't qualify people for mortgages that can't be paid for the most part now a days.  It's hard enough to get a credit card let alone something based on income/hard credit/asset pull. 

I mean what do you mean when you say "been analyzing mortgage data."  There's practically enough consolidated cash out there to change the overall amount of mortgage holders anyway.

What is your point?
How are they getting around it in a different way?  I have no idea what you're even insinuating/proposing

I don't care about rates. 41% of people surveyed in 2023 who bought a house regret it and feel they are in over their head and can't even afford maintenance.  Something like 17% of mortgage holders have refied into higher rate mortgages to tape into home equity because they couldn't qualify for other forms of credit. I'm seeing some bad patterns and the jumbo loans are getting out of hand. They're pushing peoples finances to the absolute limit.

Also something I noticed. From 2018 through 2022 banks endlessly mailed me advertisements to make bad financial choices. They don't mail these put because everyone throws them away like me. Many people were like ooooooo extend debt for more cash right in the here and now to do what ever they might want to with it.

I Don't think I have gotten a single advert trying to make me do something bad financially this year. Just one physical sign confirming them tightening up for one reason or another on their reckless lending.

Them tightening up makes me concerned.

I think its a really good time to hedge against the stock market, close the position in about a year or so from now, just in time to swoop in and by the bottom of the incoming housing crash

I got credit cards with 2 different banks, a third bank is hounding me to get a really shitty card, the only bonus is its like 8% interest for the first 6 month, it offers like no cash back, I dont spend what I dont have so low interest is whatever

And mymain bank gave me a 9k line of credit, score

I don't know much about Canada but if you have a 750 or higher credit score in America the only thing that's gonna stop you from taking out a loan is debt to income ratio and if you're scores high your debt to income ratio probably not too shabby.

It's going to happen sooner or later. But the economy is so heavily manipulated later may be 5 years from now. Or 10. Idk anymore.

We are either gonna get saved by something unexpected/hidden or what's going to unfold will be worst than a mere economic recession or even depression. Mass refugee situations planetwide as cities like populated coastal areas like mine become totally unlivable. that's at least 15-25 years away Id guess but it is looking inevitable.

I suggest you start thinking of your net worth in terms the indispensability of your skills sooner rather than later if you don't already

When shit fully hits the fan, security will come in the old fashioned way, from the fact that if you don't take care of or worse, hurt/kill the only community member or three who can do X uncommonish valuable thing for the community (electricity/engineering/medicine), you are fucked.

Can you beleive that just a short few hundred years ago we were living in the dark, shitting in buckets and pots, and hacking each other to death with sharp metal blades and blunt object.

And now! We are living in space,, driving sports cars 300 miles an hour, and talking on cell phone, and know the entire human DNA code... Wild.

The rapidness of this progression will mean the downfall will be that much harder and rapid when/if we lose power/government/order, etc.

Outside of the looming student debt crisis (might as well add healthcare crisis too) we are looking at a boom. There is nothing in the economy showing a recession. Unless we see another failing of capitalism like we did with the housing bust, we are on an upward trend.

All the hvac companies, siding companies, and general trade work has slowed down a few orders of magnitude over the last year and a half. I dont know of too many industries outside of AI that are moonshooting up right now.

People are starting to budget and not splurge as much now.

Thatโ€™s weird my HVAC guy came out and said they were back logged by 30 calls, working 6 days In a row from 9AM to 2AM. Maybe youโ€™re just wrong ๐Ÿคทโ™‚๏ธ. Or maybe the two people you know doesnโ€™t represent everything.

I've watched HVAC techs rip their shirt off and run into the street screaming at the 13th hour.

The longest I have ever worked was 16 hours and it was when I was doing HVAC during covid. I was installing 2 air conditioners at a mansion and I installed the 2nd one too close to the other because there was nowhere else to put it and that is where the installation video the sales guy made told me to put it and then my boss made me uninstall it, move it and run a shitload of more pipe. I was on the phone with him at hour 15 walking all over the mansion trying to figure out which thermostat controls which unit because the house had 4 thermostats and was so big that walking from one to the next was taking forever and I was telling my boss I was gonna just leave but he wasn't having it and I was crazy enough to keep working till I tested everything was working. It was a Thursday and I still showed up for work the next day and on time. I put in my notice shortly after and went to another company for even more money and only had to work 4 days a week and on installs like that they would give me 2 days. That company tripled in size in about 5 months time.

If a company is that back logged maybe they should expand and should have expanded a long time ago. Sounds like mismanagement.
