Fasting before dosing.

I'm curious to see if anyone has had positive experience fasting before a decent dose. Several hours to two days is the range I'm most interested in, preferably with comparison to trips in which there was no fasting involved. I'm trying to determine when, if at all, to begin fasting for a Saturday dose.

Yesterday I fasted since I woke up, ate 2 grams at 3pm and tripped fucking balls for about 4 hours. Got a sun stroke, mad headache and gut rot. After that, the trip went downhill, forgot my name, couldn't speak, and felt like my universe was collapsing. Heh.

Luckily a great friend was at a buddies house. He's very experienced with psychedelics, told my friends mom and calmed me right down. Later that night I stopped by, and his mom and everyone was very supportive of me.

Be careful if you've never fasted before a trip. I'd like to think that I have lots of experience, but no one can be 100% prepared. Variables can be thrown in left and right. Have a good trip though.

ive fasted for 2 days and gonna eat alot of shroomz 2night, never fasted b4 doing them b4, will report 2mro!

Two days is a little much in my books. You should test the waters before you jump in. But I'm sure that you've already planned this out and you're going to have fuckloads of fun.

2 days does seem a bit excessive, since by then your metabolism has been slowing down for a while.

my suggestion is to have a very light breakfast. having a small breakfast will tell your metabolism to ramp up, therefore it will quickly burn through the breakfast and leave you hungrering for food the rest of the day. when you do trip later that day and have eaten nothing else, your metabolism should still be in high gear and will quickly metabolize those shrooms. if you fast too long, your body won't take as quickly to the food

so what are ya'll saying if you fast for days and dose they stay in your stomach longer thus producing an intence trip and longer because there not being broke down?

Not that it stays in your stomach longer, peleq, more that there's no other substance in your gut to mix with the shroomies.  Just you and them.

For reference, I'm used to fasting several (4+) days consecutively.  I figured fasting a day or two would put me just at the beginning of that airey, divine feeling I tend to get when fasting.  Then I'll thrown down a couple grams of golden teachers and see what happens. :lol:

i usually fast a day and powder the shrooms, so my body can absorb the psillies better.

I've tried every method of eating in regards to shrooms. What I find works best for me is eating a light meal just 4-6 hours before the trip.

For my last trip I fasted an entire day and a half, and by the time I was coming down, I was so weak that I felt sick to my stomach and could barely move, just being miserable. I knew that I was hungry, but I couldn't "eat" anything, because my mind was still in that beshroomed state and couldn't convince my stomach that was what I needed. I had to force myself to gnaw tentatively on some carrots.


Just do what works best for you!

I'd much rather take another gram or so and not starve myself, and reach the same results. My bias comes from people I know who fast when they smoke pot... err, they live in BC. They can get an oz for just over $100 but they skimp that badly. It's one thing to shoot for a divine trip... heh.

My metabolism is crazy fast. Breakfasts don't do anything for me, I can feel them burn away the second after I mow down. 20 minutes later I need another full meal or my stomach will turn and moan. Worst mistake I ever made was not eating a proper breakfast(smarties+grape soda) and tripping. Yuck.

I always incorporate fasting into my more spiritual trips...my last trip I fasted on nothing but water and all natural juices for 5 days and then took I'm estimating around 4-5 grams of cubensis with a small amount of harmala hcl dissolved in water...it was pretty intense.

It wasnt 2 days purposelly it just kinda happened i didnt eat for 2 days, was a VERY good trip apart from mild stomach cramps, took 3 grams dryd cubensis, cant remember too much right now but the trip came on SO quick i couldnt beleive it, i chucked out 1/4 of the sandwich i ate, and pigeons ate the rest, they were making me laugh SOOOOOO much, one flew right into the fence in my garden!!!!!!

i ate 1.7 g of bomb dried shrooms 15 minutes after munching on 2 large bowls of speghetti and still had a level 5 trip 40 minutes after consumption. havent tried fasting, but not eating earlier in the day doesnt make a difference for me, i cant stand not eating, its just something i love to do.

i don't like fasting at all. i like to eat a healthy meal. this will give you energy for the trip and a better attitude. i even like to get a little exercise in if i can.

your diet is directly related to your emotions and physical well being. depletions of certain vitamins your body needs can change your whole outlook. it is still possible to eat your mushrooms on an empty stomach without fasting.

like Jux said, fasting actually slows your metabolism down...counteracting the whole reason for fasting in the first place.

no food! 4 hrs before, but some times i get stomic cramps if i am real hungy before. thats just me i think if your going for the spirtal stuff fast what ever right for YOU

  I suggest learning to fast before trying it the first time while taking a journey.  Fresh squeezed organic grapefruit juice mixed half and half with pure water every few hours, start first thing in the morning.  I usually fast for 2-3 days then dose at midnight, with pasta for breakfast.  Never felt hungry unless i thought about food.  Definately brings out the creative side in me.  Enter with the mindset of cleansing.  Stay out of the sun, and don't attemp if you're diabetic.  :crazy2:
