I'd say it's brown, maybe a really dark violet tint but not obviously purple. Where the edges of the cap touched the paper though, it stained deep blue.

The actual sporeprint had blue stains where the cap touched the paper, and the mushroom itself stained what I could only describe as a dark colour... could be black, could be blue, could be dark brown. I wouldn't confidently say it was blue.

it all seems a bit iffy. Theres a really good chance it's a sub, on the other hand it might be an undiscovered species of poisonous mushroom that will kill you in a slow and painful way if you eat it. Until you get the other mushrooms and have a definite indication of blue staining and a brown/purple spore-print i wouldn't risk it.

I can see blue, green on the stem on one of the pics but am unsure if thats just the picture or not. Also about the blue on the print i think the margin stained blue. The stem looks like it has a lot of mottling and (what i beleive to be) oxidized psilocybin or it could just be a shadow.
If you at least had 2-3 mushrooms and a shot of the cap, its existence as a sub or not would be confirmed. no one really can confirm anything so you just have to wait i guess

Seeing what my mate found has put me in the mood to go hunting, so after a few days searching, I found these in some low density native scrub in the adelaide hills... They are the same species as the previous pictures I posted, or an identical one at least
There was varying degrees of light but definite bluing almost immediately after picking on the stems, and the outer ring of the caps went a vivid blue, same as the last photos I put up. The stems seem to be darkening to a black brown colour quite quickly though, so I think maybe that was what happened with the last pictures as well.
This is a bit of a collage of relevant pictures... (sorry about the large file)

This is a closeup straight after picking showing the faint bluing on the upper stem. Some bruised a bit more strongly than that, but the stems only bruised in smaller patches. The cap edges and tops stained deep blue.

I'm not sure actually, but the one I got off him had the same kind of bluing round the ring of the cap, it was a bit harder to notice though. The stems on some of these ones bruised a deep inky blue black after a few hours
I'm planning on heading back that way next weekend, I found these just as I was turning back to go home
